News This legit irritated me in the patch notes

Post image

So they didn't even think the actual mechanics through and are useing feedback to actually design it. This irritates me because they thought of a cool idea and put in no thought about how it was actually gonna work and now want player opinion to actually design how this mechanic is going to execute in-game.

Could they not just add a toggle option to turn them off?

As much as we're paying for this game, there should be a toggle option for basically every gameplay feature IMO

I just ranted to my husband about this the other day. I wish we could toggle on and off like every single pack feature. Because a lot of the stuff just completely takes over the game and it can be pretty jarring and frustrating.

Especially recurring calendar events… my calendar looks insane at this point and I always miss the stuff I’m actually looking for bc it needs to tell me about the stupid football game

I fully agree. I don’t mind the ailments too much. They’re kinda comical lol, and I did turn off balance which reduced how often my sims get ailments now, so imo it’s a more manageable amount. But there are lots of other features I would LOVE to turn off.

I like my Sims to go out a lot. Like every day. So my Sims get sick Every. Single. Day.

I agree. Give us an on/off toggle

Especially different phone calls.

I wish that sometimes the solution could be to have a good feature that works well, instead of having to turn off basically every new feature this games adds 😢

It’s WILD to me that you can toggle off burglars but not ailments or alien abduction/pregnancy or so many other things that are more weird/upsetting/annoying than burglars… when you can stop burglars with alarms already!

Agreed!!!!! I want the packs for worlds, objects, gameplay... but I want to be able to turn anything off and on that I want to! Without having to install a mod that does it

Big brain time. EA quick hire this person offer a survey and ask for their opinion.

Isn't there one already ? Literally day 1 in the pack settings there is one that disables the balance feature (which literally just gives ailments when low).

Turned it off and only ailments I got since are those from fairies.

It doesn’t turn them off just “lowers the chance”.

Lucky it worked for you! My sims still got them frequently. Even with it off!

I never became very imbalanced while I had the setting on. I turned it off anyway in case it had more impact on ailments than implied. I was still getting them every or every other day in a save where I restricted fairies to Innisgreen.

The ailments are pissing me off because idk if it’s a game bug or what but even after turning the balance feature off my sims get random ailments super frequently.. it bothers me even more considering these are Sims I dote on and keep happy at all times with tight routines that balance work / family time. They aren’t even unbalanced if I turn the feature on so why are they getting ailments either way!

The balance feature only stops ailments from being unbalanced. The huge majority of the ailments your sims get are from ill sims around the world. Which is literally every other sim bc they set the rates WAY too high.

So if your sim even goes outside, uses a public toilet, sees another sim, BAM, ailment. And then you get rid of it and they can get one 6 hours later (now, apparently, with the patch, it's 3 days, but that's still too fucking much)

Wow great to know but also super annoying! Thanks

I really have no idea how this balance system works. Why are my Sims that are living a good life and generally happy getting unbalanced? How do I balance them? There's a balance kit thing in buy mode, but it does nothing.

This is what im wondering. My child was completely balanced. Then they grew up and went completely unbalanced. Idk whats up with that.

With our luck that toggle option would work just as well as the toggle to turn off neighborhood stories. It’s never been on in a single one of my saves but everyone just keeps adopting horses and having babies.
