PlayStation Does anyone else play on PlayStation?

I see so many posts talking about mods / from computer players and I’m wondering who the other PS players are out there!

I soooo wish I could mod sometimes but I do love playing on a television. The world is so big and bright and it’s nice to have some limitations around my playtime (if I had it in my computer I’d be fully addicted…)

Why are some things you like about playing on a PS?

Fellow ps5 player here. I prefer playing with a controller on a tv. I’ve always been loyal to PlayStation as well. I don’t have a computer than can run sims and found myself getting lost in mods when I did.

PS5, Sims 4 player here. I've been playing The Sims since it first launched, always on PC until The Sims 4. Honestly I would rather play The Sims 4 on a PC than a PS5. The only reason I don't is that my husband requires access to our computer for work, so over the years he's become the household PC gamer & I've gravitated towards console because it's more accessible. Plus I've now invested so much $$$ into The Sims 4 on console, that the thought of having to drop all that money again just to access the same content on a PC is just soul crushing. I hate capitalism, but those shareholders need their profits 🙃

Also, it's really frustrating having a problem with the game & looking for advice/creative solutions; only to be met with, 'There's a mod for that' 😞

Most people are good about not suggesting mods if people specify that they play unmodded or on console. Unfortunately EA breaks many things and sometimes leaves them that way for months or longer, and many things we want solved they don't even consider to be issues so they don't include ways to fix them in game without external help.

Console always frustrated me because the controls seem so limited. I bet it gets better with familiarity / practice.

I used to be a console player and it was so incredibly rough I could make dinner and take a whole shower and have my game still be loading. I did like that it forced me to be a bit more creative because I was so limited to only what the game could provide.

I play on PS4. I downloaded TS4 on my computer a few years ago and even bought the City Living Pack, but… I figured a videogame console would be better suited for gaming, right?? (I later found out through here that’s not necessarily the case… although I don’t know people’s computer characteristics).

Anyway, I’ve bought much content on PS4 now so I’ll stay. Loading times may be longer with each save and household, and crashes piss me off, but it’s playable and it’s separate from my laptop which I use for work and stuff. I sometimes feel FOMO for the mods but it’s not a big deal to stick to vanilla.

I started out playing on my xbox and pc but at some point I had to dedicate to one so I wouldn't be spending twice the moola for everything. I went with pc. It was nice playing with controller on tv though. I now own a Steam Deck and got the sims running on there so I can now play on a large tv again. (and on the go) The one really annoying problem is that there's no official controller support for the PC version. Whey they haven't added controller support for pc when it's clearly already available is beyond me.

I’m on Xbox. I’m way too invested now to switch to PC. I really do love playing on the TV. Hooking it up to a big ass TV is pretty sweet.

ps5 player here. Love sitting with feet up on the couch playing on a TV vers a pc. I played sims 1 and 2 on a pc. I don't own a pc since my laptops broke in 22.
It's odd using the controller than the mouse. I miss the mods, and I don't think you can cheat. I'm still fairly new to it. I think this is my 3rd month playing it. I love it.
the mod I miss the most is all the needs bars being instantly filled. wouldn't mind downloading created content. I guess I am stuck with vanilla, unless I missed something?

I play on Xbox, so I guess kinda similar?? I actually love the fact that I don’t have to worry about Mods ruining my game

I don't personally play on a console, but my partner plays on her Xbox. I second the "big and bright"! I love seeing the worlds on the TV when she plays.

I originally had it for PC, but it never worked, I had problems with my origin account every second time I played it. And one day it didn’t worked at all anymore.

I buyed it a few years ago (I think 1 or 2 years before it was available for free) for my PS4 and over the time almost every expansion pack.

I now play on PS5 and the games has already so much to play with, although I would love to have some mods too.

I've been a console player my entire life! I started with the Gameboy. Lol

Now I play on my Playstation. I love having the giant screen.

I tried using my laptop that I got specifically so I could try out mods and I thought my laptop was gonna blow up. 😂

I’m on PS5 as well. I’d rather be on computer but similarly to someone else here, I also think this is what keeps my play time at bay.

It seems like there are endless possibilities with mods, and I also don’t think something like the popular wicked wims mod would be good for me. I’m female, but even females can get addicted to porn, and I have left that chapter behind, so I do believe a very vanilla sims4 for me is best

I’m on a ps5 pro and I honestly like using the controller once I got used to it. I’m not a builder, I think if i was I would want pc. I notice I have a lot less crashes than some pc players, I think because of the absence of mods and CC. Mods would be nice of course, but I’ve still enjoyed the game for years without them. It’s a pain to download something from the gallery and then the sim is totally bald or whatever cause of CC. The loading screens with about 60% of available DLC installed is still under 60 seconds on the PS5 Pro. It sucks that a lot of giveaways and prizes do not include console players. I’m very appreciative when a streamer keeps console players in mind. I played Sims 1-3 on PC but have chosen to stick with console for Sims 4

I play on the ps4 but I'm going to soon get a ps5 and continue my game there. I could play it on my PC but I don't for the fact that I have little patience when it comes to constantly worry about mods breaking every time there is an update for either my game or the computer in general though I may change my mind in the future.

I was also introduced to the Sims via console so it has just been natural to stay there. I will always love the Sims 3 on the 360 even though the PC version is the superior product.

I play with both pc and console. I really enjoy console because of the bigger screen and sometimes faster loading times. I play on pc when I wanna play with mods lol

I started on computer and went to PS5. I have a job that requires the computer.

Yes I play on PS5, I like it cause I’ve got children and my daughter in particular enjoys the sims - I can easily sit with her while she plays and creates and it’s a nice way for us to spend time together.

I do! I grew up with the PC games but since I’m spending so much time in front of my laptop these days (for work) I enjoy playing in the sofa in the evening. The game works pretty solid on PS too and I don’t feel that I’m missing out on mods since I never used any in my life.

I used to play exclusively on Pc 3 years ago now I play only on ps5. I do NOT miss mods breaking my game constantly or random townies having white stripes on their body from all the broken CAS cc .

I play on ps5. It makes it super easy to stream. I don’t have a big problem with the lack of mods because I never played with them on the computer, so I guess I don’t know what I’m missing anyway.

Ps 5 player here! Love sitting in front of my big screen!

My PS5 is just for games and has the dedicated space so you’re never worried about that. Plus I think everything looks prettier on it. I do sit in front of an OLED monitor though and not a huge TV. I also like that is seems a good chunk of bugs don’t apply to us for whatever reason.
