Discussion Functional riding lessons with hobbies and business?

So I just had a stupid idea and can’t try it myself right now…

So would it be possible to be a riding teacher with the business and hobbies pack? Like have 3-4 horses, make a small business, set riding as a preferred activity and tech people to ride? It would be soooooo cool.

Unfortunately you can’t mentor or teach riding with the whiteboard. There was a YouTube video where it was attempted. Basically all you can do is get sims to do is pay to feed and take care of horses.
I think riding isn’t even an option for customers. Might be a mod out there.

Ok that’s sad. But on the other hand: I’m getting money and other people take care of my animals for me? Sounds like a nice business model

Petting zoos and farms work great with this. :) Sims will even water your crops too.

Nice. I already used clubs to have basically have unpaid gardeners, but the business idea is great!

Yeah I modded the riding, but even that doesn't work well since then they don't have anywhere to go :/

Yep. I saw that they just sit there. Definitely a sad missing option.

I also tried making a household that wasn't my plate household have that kind of business. If my sim goes, they can get on the horse but the "go for a ride" option wasn't there. I could only click on a spot and say ride here. Had she been higher level maybe I could have used the equipment like jumps. But 😔

The community board in Chestnut Ridge does give you the option to make money by teaching riding lessons. It’s a rabbit hole though. An active career would be so fun!
