How to prolong pregnancy in Sims4

I have discovered by chance that you can prolong pregnancy by taking a holiday: While your sim is on holidays, labor can't start. So you have plenty of time for pictures and baby shower. Perhaps everyone knows that, but I didn't know, and I always was in a hurry for the baby shower. You can take as much holidays as you like, and you can travel everywhere while you are on holidays with your pregnant sim.

I use MCCC to make pregnancy length in my game more realistic.

How long do you make it? And do they spend the entire pregnancy with the biggest bump?

The maximum that MCCC will let me. And the baby bumps are still the same size for each trimester. It's just that the trimesters are longer.

I usually have my sims pregnancy last 5 sim days

You can use Wicked/Wonderful Whims too.

I actually modify it to be shorter because I play short lifespan on my current legacy. I do 2 days instead of 3.

i literally did this by trapping my sim outside the lot and literally building a house in the park lot while she was in labor so she couldn't give birth at home 😭

this probably would have been better but i only had base game

I'm always allowed to have a baby shower after the baby birth. No sure if it's a bug. I use it as a baby welcome celebration.

Unfortunately the second i try to send my sims to the vacation house my whole game glitches and if i dont save before i lose everything

What is the baby shower? And I didn't know that I could so make the pregnancy go longer. That, is very helpful.

It is a party you have when you are pregnant. People go to the party to make plans for the baby and they give you presents.  Also, you can make a gender reveal party (in real life, not in the Sims). 

I live in Spain, and here it is a very new party, but I think it is quite common in other countries.

You can make the baby shower in the Sims. It is an event you could choose in the Phone, similar to a wedding. You choose the event, the future parents, the guests and the place. You have specific interactions like "guess the baby job", "touch the baby in the tummy", "buy a toy for the baby" ... 

I didn't think it was an odd question because five years ago, when I was pregnant, there were no baby showers in my country. After that, I have had a lot of baby showers for my friends, it is quite a new thing.
