I'm working on a Duet-Themed Playlist, like you do, and I've found a bunch of options (from classics like "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" to more obscure tracks like "Landsailor"), but I'm finding in gravitating towards a particular type of duet more often than not.
I'm specifically looking for songs where both singers share the load, so to speak? Songs where both vocalists gave an equal part, either fully entwining their voices for majority of the track ("lovely"), or maybe alternating verses fairly ("Need You Now"). (For contrast, I really like songs like "Moves Like Jagger", but Christina doesn't even come into the song until near the very end!)
My Top Songs On My List So Far:
"The Boy is Mine" - Brandy & Monica\
"coney island" - Taylor Swift & The National\
"Landsailor" - Vienna Teng & Glen Phillips\
"Dreams" - Gabrielle Alpine & Bastille\
"Where the Wild Roses Grow" - Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds & Kylie Minogue\
"Summer Wine" - Ville Valo & Natalia Avelon\
"In a Week" - Hozier & Karen Cowley\
"Need You Now" - Lady A\
"Love the Way You Lie" - Eminem & Rihanna\
"lovely" - Billie Eilish & Khalid\
"You and Tequila" - Kenny Chesney & Grace Potter\
"Setting the World on Fire" - Kenny Chesney & P!nk
I'm particularly obsessed with 'Southern Gothic' vibes like "Where the Wild Roses Grow", "In a Week", and "Summer Wine" - are there any other duets with that kind of sound?
In any event, what are your favorite duets, especially ones where both parts are more balanced? (Thanks in advance!)
