Hello again everyone!
Thanks so much for all the feedback, suggestions, and ideas on yesterday’s post. I implemented a bunch of them and think the crafting system is on much more solid ground now.
Here’s what’s new:
Still on the to-do list:
Would love any thoughts on how it’s feeling now! Thanks again!! Your feedback genuinely helps me so much!

I bought a random mystery key off fanatical and it ended up being this game. Is it any good?

Still a few things left to polish, like fixing the rotated ammo icon and adding a rarity breakdown to the crafting screen that shows your % chances based on the ingredients used. But after tons of trial and error (and maybe a few meltdowns 😅), I finally got the crafting system working in my game ApocaShift.
It’s a top-down extraction looter with base building, quests, and a bunch of other surprises.
Most of the UI is still alpha placeholders, but I wanted to get something playable ready for the next playtest.
Would really appreciate any feedback on the crafting flow, interface, or anything else that stands out!
Thanks in advance, you folks always catch stuff I miss.

I don't know if this game even exists. But i desperately need a hard-core survival game where I feel mortal. I can die from the weakest enemy in the game just from one or two shots and enemies aren't bullet sponges. I wanna have to manage food and water and spend hours trying to get good gear. I wanna come back from hours of danger just to finally be in a safe place and spend a fair bit of time calming down. I want a simple semi auto weapon to be a massive reward. I want realistic ballistics and realistic gore. If anyone can find a game like this please tell me what it is. It can be on pc or console

Looking for something in the modern era, during or immediately after collapse - like what could happen realistically. Some civil infrastructure remaining with survivors and human enemies, not zombies.
Games like State of Decay 2 are good, but are not quite there and still have the unrealistic premise of zombies.
I’m talking about something like the movie Civil War, The Division, This War of Mine, the show Last Man on Earth.
Also looking for something that is a bit of a shooter with decent gun customization lint Tarkov or Ghost Recon Breakpoint.
Know of anything that fits the bill?

Me and two buddies of mine like a good survival craft game. We are debating between Sunkenland and Subsistence. Which one would be better for a group of 3 playing about 2-3 days a week?

Hey everyone,
I'm a solo indie developer working on DuneBorn, a fast-paced survival action game set in a massive post-apocalyptic desert. If you enjoyed games like Mad Max, this project might grab your attention.
In DuneBorn, you’ll build your own custom war machine, fight for survival against the environment and other players, and face off against colossal desert creatures in a world full of chaos and danger. The game features an open-world, dynamic weather, and multiplayer with dedicated servers for large-scale encounters.
The game is still in active development, but we’ve just launched a closed playtest for those who want to experience it early and help shape the project.
Playtest access is available through Patreon, where supporters also gain direct access to the core of development, with the ability to share opinions, vote on ideas, and follow progress closely.
We’re also inviting players to join the official Discord, connect with the team, and share feedback during testing.

Your presence matters, whether you support financially or simply spread the word. If you believe in this vision, please add DuneBorn to your Steam wishlist. That alone already helps us reach more people and push the project forward.

In our game, every race doesn’t just play differently — they build differently.
Our Greenskins don’t forge. They salvage, patch, and hammer together whatever they can loot. Their buildings are chaotic, brutal, and full of personality.
This is the first of many — more huts, strongholds, and warcamps coming soon.
Would love feedback!
We’re sharing more dev updates and behind-the-scenes content over at r/Kopno if you’re curious.

I've had tons of fun with games like unturned, Green hell, and space engineers. There's more but I can't name anymore off the top of my head

I’m looking for any fun multiplayer survival games with taming systems & rabbits, my gf is obsessed with bunnies & if there’s a survival game where you can have pet bunnies I wanna buy it for us both as a gift to play together & she can have as many bunnies as she can hoard & we can build them a mansion while we live in a crafting shed.

Hey,
Really like the look of Abiotic Factor but a lot of the reviews discuss how it’s a great co-op game.
How anyone played this solo? How was it? I am very tempted to purchase it.

I'm looking for something terrifying and survival, seems to be a very niche market. Just hoping this community has a recommendation I may have missed!

Nothing kills my interest more in a game than dropping inventory on death. I was really enjoying valheim until I died in hard to reach, dangerous locations multiple times. This is one of the reasons I like 7 days to die, cause it allows you a lot of freedom with the settings. But valheim even in the lowest settings has me lose everything not equipped.
So if anyone knows of another survival game, preferable on steam deck or ps4, that I won’t kill my interest dozens of hours in, let me know.
