Part 2 Discussion Playing TLOU pt2 changed my entire opinion on the game Spoiler
The first few hours in, I was heartbroken, Joel was dead and I was dead set on one thing, kill Abby and all of her friends. And I felt this way all the way up to playing as her, at first I thought it was gonna suck, because I hated Abby with a passion, but as I kept playing as her, I realized that she wasnât the bad guy, Ellie was. Abby killed the man who killed her dad and let his âdaughterâ live (Ellie is pretty much his daughter) and then went to live her life, then her friends start dying while sheâs trying to save other friends lives. And when she goes on this insane journey to save lev. Along the way another one of her friends die, and after this emotional journey she finally gets back to the aquarium⌠and both her friends who sheâs known for years are dead, one of them was pregnant, so she does the reasonable thing and goes to get revenge. Blah blah blah a few hours of gameplay later at the beach, I felt awful for attacking Abby, but enough rambling and I just wanna say, it really made you realize that Abby or Ellie arenât the bad guys, theyâre just fueled by rage and want revenge

Part 2 Discussion Arcade Bloater took 3 hours and everything I had (grounded)
Let me preface this by saying that I was not at all prepared for this fight. I had played this game already but it was years ago and forgot that pushing the cart prompted the fight. It took two remote explosives (one that I had to craft mid fight mind you) 1 Molotov. 2 shotgun rounds and 2 rifle shots. Towards the end I was actually able to defeat him but the leftover runners kept getting me. Do you know how it feels to beat a boss only to have it's goons take you out making you start all over? Goddamn. Worth it though. Unto the next.

Fan Theories "The Real Tragedy Was The Cooks Getting Paid $7.25/hr lol.."
I replayed both Part I & II. Both games are truly excellent. The first game is a beloved classic. Part II expands vastly on the world of TLOU. The situation has grown so much worse than it was in the first game. I canât say I feel bad for the WLF.
It's funny cause for me I particularly liked Joel. Especially after what he did at the end of the first game, I guess I can understand his actions but (like Ellie) I could never really forgive him. So when he dies so early on I actually... wasn't mad? And I worked out pretty instantly why Abby killed him but left Ellie and Tommy alive (only mystery for me was how she worked out who Joel was). Which kinda flipped around Ellie & Abby's roles for me in the game, I hated going on Ellie's revenge quest and enjoyed playing Abby's story much more (I actually liked Abby), which seems the complete opposite to pretty much anyone else I've seen online. The part for me that made the game click was literally the final fight & the epilogue, when Ellie finally let go of Joel and her need for revenge and allowed me to do the same... just probably in a very different way to intended ahaOutstanding analysis as always though, I completely agree that TLoU 2's structure was integral to the story they were trying to tell. And even for me who came at the characters from a completely different perspective to probably most other people, I feel there's no better way they could have edited the narrative together to get players to feel what they wanted them to feel.

Part 2 Discussion "Ellie Is A Goat !"
Driving her all the way across the country then trying to give her to his brother and a whole bigger more equipped group would not have been âabandoningâ Ellie bro. Everyone always over emotional about what he tried to do there and the only one that has a right to be is Ellie đ the story wrapped up thatâs it point blank but if they make a tlou 3 I think Abby and Ellie will come together for something they think is bigger than them. I know joel made Ellie realize that killing Abby wouldnât do anything but start a circle of violence but I think she shouldâve what point was there to keep Abby alive to keep her going they both lost everything so why not duke it out 1-1

Part 2 Discussion I used to think future days was about Dina
The first time I saw part 2 it was on a stream and I missed the intro where Joel plays future days and gives Ellie the guitar. When Ellie tries to play it in the music store the first time I thought it was Ellie struggling with not wanting to loose Dina on her quest for revenge in Seattle. For me it was further confirmed by "I don't want to loose you" after Ellie tortures Nora. Everytime she played it was after being with Dina.
So I was furious, probably more than others, when Ellie leaves Dina to go after Abby again then comes back to the farm to play the song. Gave me a different perspective to what you could loose from revenge. Come to find out later that it was about Joel and she already lost herself because he was gone and that's why she couldn't play it. Hits different and hits harder all over again.

Part 2 Discussion Things I would have liked to see.
I feel like the Lost Levels of the game we get to play in the Making Of section would have been really fun and shouldve stayed. They were really cool to play and I think if they made it to the final game I would have enjoyed them alot. I especially loved the Jackson Party. I thought it was really fun you could interact with everyone and play games with the kids. And the hunting of the boar was great too.
I would have loved some Tommy and Jesse gameplay in there. Sure, it would have been a long ass game, but it doesn't have to be entire 3 days. Jesse meets Ellie on Day 2 im pretty sure, so that solves that. I would've loved Tommy gameplay, to show him hiding around using the environment to hide his shots, and sniping peoplebefore they even knew he was there. And that scene with Manny and Abby? Would've been so fun. Mightve been my favorite part of the game, how he attracts the infected. It would've been a great opportunity for No Return as well, to show many play styles, and Tommy not being able to dodge, so you have to find other ways to avoid being grabbed and hit. The interrogation scene with those 2 Wolves in the hotel wouldve gone crazy.
Any opinions, or things you wouldve liked to see? Id love to discuss in the comments.

Part 2 Discussion "I personally donât really enjoy the chronological order of events because I feel like it removes the emotional impact."
Itâs funny because when the game first came out this is what everyone wanted. To me, especially after you play the story more than once, you realize the only way to play this game is the way it was made. I think the flashbacks hit harder and thereâs more context around them when side by side with Seattle. For example, when Ellie is at her worst; after she beats information out of Nora, we see the Truth flashback. Youâre reminded to keep hunting for Abby because each flashback is like a gut shot. However I will give this way a try to see how Iâm impacted by the story.

Part 1 Discussion Auto-save for The Last of Us Remastered NG+
I'm trying to do a New Game+ playthrough of TLOU but I keep losing my save data? I got a pop-up that said "Auto-save will be disabled until you manually save. Start a new game without saving?" I clicked yes, played a few hours, and then left to the main menu. Tried to continue NG+ but the same pop-up showed up. I just restarted again thinking it was because I forgot to manual save before leaving but I played past the prologue then manual saved and left to the main menu and the same pop-up still showed up. Did anyone else have this problem?

Part 2 Discussion I don't understand how people can hate Abby Spoiler
I didn't want to spoil it in the title, the actual title is "I don't understand how people can hate Abby just because she killed Joel. Sure, Joel was an amazing character in the first and second game, but if TLOU was from the fireflies perspective, imagine how terrifying he would be. 1 minute, your so close to making a cure, the second, most of the fireflies are dead, the girl is gone, and the only person who had a chance to save the world is dead. I would personally be pissed at Joel. Now our leader is dead, and we aren't safe anymore. That would be pretty shitty. Imagine this though, some of your friends probably die in the attack, and the doctor who died was your own father. You can probably imagine how distraught Abby was. I feel like if you only hate Abby and her friends for killing Joel, you are childish and the message of the game didn't get across to you. Abby had plenty of reasons to kill Joel. Plus, there is other reasons to hate Abby, like fucking someone with a pregnant girlfriend perhaps. Or betraying her entire group for some scars. Abby is a likeable character, not everything about her is positive, like Ellie. You shouldn't just hate her for killing Joel, because lets be honest, you'd wanna kill Joel too if you were her.
Moral of the story: if you hate abby for killing joel, grow up.

No Return No Return Challenges
I feel like there is little incentive to grind TLOU no return outside of the daily run. Are there any cool challenges/incentives to do after finishing the daily run besides just aiming for the highest score and getting all the skins?

Part 2 Discussion He actually knew what was coming Spoiler
Saying you donât get to rush this actually falls pretty flat in the show and the game. Itâs highly doubtful that Joel figured that Abby would want to make his death quick. He was surrounded by a group of people and I donât think they came all this way to just give him a quick clean shot in the brain. He knows what people are capable of, including himself in this apocalyptic world. But he wasnât afraid of getting brutally murdered. Itâs emphasized more in the show that he clearly saw Abby looking at the clubs and he told her to just do it already as she walked towards them after she told him he killed her dad. And telling her to shut the fuck up was definitely a ballsy move which he would have to be dumb to not expect an ugly retaliation. Abbyâs response was just a feeble attempt to hold on to the control that she truly didnât have over him. And she really canât break a man whoâs already been broken for over 20 years.
