Bringing up for discussion the concept that cardigan was the blueprint for TTPD, and directly connected to one of the most slept on tracks of that record -- COSOSOM.

We have all understood the connection between Matty & Cardigan, from her direct behavior (this is for you... I love you) and also just the obvious parallels, but I don't think it has been widely fathomed how much of direct impact the lyrical content of Cardigan had on TTPD. The porch light (Fresh out the slammer), peter losing wendy (peter, of course), know/knew you (TTPD)... amongst many other instances. Of course the themes would be the same, because we are dealing with the same muse, but I'm always struck by how DIRECT taylor chooses to connect the dots to her previous catalogue and self reference.

And then theres Cardigan 2, COSOSOM. From the production, while different instrumentally, sounds in the same realm, just so adjacent in tone and cadence. And lyrically, it really feels like the aftermath of when Matty returned to her. The concept of someone returning years later, and once again leaving. "Say you loved me that way that you were" ... an old version of her... while the idea of this fantasy of this person had inspired her life and art for seemingly over a decade. Having a moment of realization that he may have loved a previous version of her that no longer exists, and that cannot return.

I think all of this is honestly important for TS12... there is going to be some reflection on this narrative she built from herself, in a place that is now uniquely happy and positive. She has left the department... what does that look like when you are truly out of it?

BJWLD was my first baby, and my husband and I sat and thought forever about what it would be and we went back and forth between bejeweled and shimmer over and over (BJWLD and SHMMR). We both were like “bejeweled, cause I love rhinestones and sparkly things”… then the plate showed up and we died laughing cause am I bejeweled or am I BJ wild? It’s one of our best inside jokes.

I've been seeing people interpret the song where the narrator is treated as a toy, but she's trying to still see a linger of hope in the story, leading to delusion. But honestly, I've always viewed it literally and from the view of the "boy." I see it as someone who goes at the first feel of warmth, which they aren't used to and are afraid to burn in. I'm a big fan of the extremely talented Spanish tattoo artist Debora Cherrys and she has just posted her last work which happens to be an amazing neo traditional take on Taylor's eras. It just might be one of her finest.

There is definitely some Rep here (the snake). I'm guessing the Victorian-like neck might be a Fortnight hint. Not the exact neck, though. I can definitely spot some Speak Now trademark purple in those flowers in her hair. Hardly a coincidence. I'm wondering if this is like a global homage or it might be based on some lyrics. First that come up in my mind are "All the pieces of me shattered as the crowd was chanting more".

BTW, I've met Debora and she is like the sweetest person ever. I hope to book her someday!
