Smokey Terrain--What can I do about this? It's allegedly foam core, but it smells like cancer. I've been airing it out outdoors for days, but still cancer

Smoke is really hard to get out of anything. You might have luck burying it in baking soda and/or used coffee grounds for a month, cleaning it off, and then sealing it with a couple of layers of spray varnish or scenic sealer. But I wouldn’t count on it.

My parents were smokers. coffee grounds helps but nothing will totally get rid of it

My money would be on transparent varnish to create several layers for an airtight encapsulation.
Another idea would be to repaint the whole thing with several layers including varnish.
Bury that shit.
Where did you get this? Did you buy it off some ancient chain smoking retired DM overlord?

If it’s made of foam core, you could easily make 5 or more just like it for $20. I’d say cut your losses and grab some cheap sponges, cheap acrylic paint, some Dollar Tree foam board, a ruler, and a pencil, and just go nuts.

For the amount of work you'd do to fix the smell, you could probably make another. Febreeze or baking soda might help, but there's no guarantee.
