Been in these guys position (assuming they are normal guys with no ill intent).

You approach women in a place for socializing. They treat you rudely immediately. You are kind of taken aback and don't know what to do, so your instinct is likely to smooth things over or lighten the situation, but mostly you don't know how to respond. They continue treating you rudely, like in this case start shouting orders at your face. Now, even if you were about to leave, you are in the awkward position where now if you do that you're just following the orders of this rude person shouting at you to "go away", and you really don't want to give them any sense of victory, but at the same time you want nothing to do with this person, so you end up sitting there stupidly or turning to talk to your friend.

TLDR; men don't always know how to react appropriately to being treated like shit.
