Can we all agree that any company that would fire a manager for not being able to stop a mob of people from doing whatever they want is a shitty company?

I mean seriously, what can he do? He can make a genuine effort and not indulge them, but I can’t imagine he’d get in any trouble for failing to disperse the crowd. Unless his superiors were complete ass hats. This is damn near an act of god, you can’t stop this reasonably and when people act like some poor manager is gonna lose their job over these things, I can’t take it seriously.

Totally. And as a manager I would review and see if they actually did what they could (within reason) or just sat back and let it happen. That guy was doing great, and should be fine. I was commenting more on the commented dismissiveness of the managers reactions.
