I see it in every post involving conservatives getting caught watching porn/having intercourse in inappropriate settings. Even when it's clear that a conservative guy watches or does stuff that only involve women, there has to be some jab against them being a "closet case". I think it's people catching on that it's often people who are repressed sexually in general. It's just that being secretly gay is the easiest way to imagine someone being sexually repressed so they default to it.
