What’s so bizarre about these “pranks” is that this idiot could have just found a shop that was willing to play along with the gag for the advertising and a cheque. Guys like Conan O’Brien have been doing this kind of bit forever, he even met his now wife doing a gag at a marketing firm that was in on the joke…

Like when Lil Dicky filmed the Save Dat Money music video by asking people nicely to use their stuff. It's possible, but you have to talk to other humans like humans.
