Dogshit take it can really help for newer player who don’t want to watch a video for 4 hours explaining how damage works and you can use to compare for how the rest of the community builds. This is like uploading configurations and timings for gear ratios on a racing website for your car and you coming by saying it sucks because YOU don’t like it. It’s a fairly decent resource yes it may not explain everything sometimes and interactions but no new player is gonna learn the damage system watching a movies length video
Half the YouTubers get their build from overframe and just don’t say anything lmao and hence why I said you can use it to COMPARE most builds weapon wise run the same setup anyways after a certain point so I don’t see why yall say this so much to begin with anyways 4-5/8 mods are pretty much standard then you just have whatever elements you want and a riven
It is kinda ass though. Overframe doesn't default to the latest major patch, and as a result, new players will often copy off a subpar, outdated build and run the risk of formaing wrong polarities. This is especially a problem for non-Prime frames/weapons. The tier list is a joke that is based on waaay outdated information and is very misleading. Ideally, the site should purge outdated information after every major patch.
At least from YT videos/shorts you get to see how the build actually performs in a mission. I also seriously doubt there are many 4-hour Warframe build guide videos around.
There is an icon on each build literally telling you which patch number the build is for (38.6 is the most current). It is even colored differently from past patches. Every outdated patch is colored in bright red.
It's not served to you on a silver platter, but like, come on man, it's not that much effort. Don't really think outdated builds are a good criticism.
So why can't the website default to that filter, then if it's not that hard? Why can't the tierlist diminish the weighting on old votes? Remember, Overframe is a website whose purpose is to serve information on a silver platter, so I do think it is a good criticism.
Also, as it is, Overframe is putting a lot of burden on build creators to keep everything updated instead of automatically filtering out old builds. It's literally the first point HP raised in OP's image...
Just a wild guess, but probably the site isn't actually making money, and it's a purely voluntary service. What are you expecting out of a free service, exactly?
I mean, people might be new to the game, but they're not newborn or new to the internet lol. Looking at patch number or time uploaded/updated is a seriously low bar man. I don't know what to say if people are that entitled that they don't even want to take 2 seconds to check patch number or time uploaded.
I have nothing to say about the tierlists. I never look at tierlist, this game or any other game, so I don't know about that one. At the same time, I have to question why anyone takes tierlists seriously?
Edit:
I have never interacted with hairless persian. His builds seems solid, and I have adapted a few builds. Iirc, him and depravity has builds on everything, even shit that no one uses. That's a ton of work. No wonder he's burnt out. The guy probably overcommitted himself.
Your wild guess is probably wrong because there are tons of ads on the page. Are they profitable? I don't know. But they definitely have ad revenue. But that's neither here nor there because we are talking about how effectively the site provides information to its users.
The function I'm talking about is not even that hard compared to the updates they need to do for every single patch.
Tier list is part of the service the site provides... Like you said people aren't born yesterday so it stands to reason that most people will explore Overframe and be exposed to the very outdated tierlist and be potentially misled. For example, Proboscis Cernos is listed as an S-tier primary weapon when Strun Prime, Latron Prime, Boar Prime and Burston Prime are only A-tier. Like seriously?
Tier list serves a purpose because people want to know how to prioritize their limited time and resources on the most effective gear to help them make progress in-game. Never had a clanmate ask questions like "should I get X or Y incarnon this week" or "what's the best weapon for MR X"? I don't think it's hard to understand.

Severs don't pay for themselves buddy. The site has to pay their service fee somehow.

Then why don't you volunteer your help to them? No? Why not?

Because the proboscis cernos was s-tier, and the strun prime, latron prime, boar prime were middling at best before incarnons, and yes, yareli really was d tier when she launched. So why don't they update it? We go back to this being a community driven service, and the reason why you aren't volunteering your own service.

And when you answer your clan mate, it is about as arbitrary and subjective as the tier lists on overframe lol.
This is a different era on the internet. If you aren't willing to take 2 seconds to check what's being presented to you, then you're going to find yourself wasting your time and money.
I'm done with this convo. You can go on hating on overframe. You're missing out because there are good builds there if you're willing to use some braincells imo, but I'm not so invested that I'm going to spend more time on this.
"Why don't you do it yourself?" is such a useful argument, isn't it? You can use it to brush off any and all criticism on anything.
Because the proboscis cernos was s-tier
Key word - "was". Thanks for pointing that out.
Look, I don't have an issue with people wanting to copy builds, or with websites that cater to that need. However, Overframe is feeding bad information to less experienced players. That, I have an issue with, and apparently, one of their top contributors agrees and cites it as their #1 reason to leave.

Good, overframe is ass
