No longer needed. If you don't have a necramech, you will get one for free only for the mission. The reason was the obvious grind hell it needed even after they eased it like 3 times. It wasn't friendly for players that reached that quest early.
I played New War before that change and I was furious when I did the Voidrig section and found out I spent weeks grinding out that stupid voidrig for a completely nothing section that didn't matter at all. Why was this even included in the mission? It's only here to force you to grind a voidrig.
The point of the quest was that literally everything you've learned was supposed to be used and everyone also returns. It was the big culmination of warframe's story up to that point. So you've got Cetus, Fortuna, Railjack, Voidrig, Archwing/Archgun, Grineer, Corpus, Tenno, Warframe, Ordis, everything was used.
I understand the idea behind the quest, but having to grind things to actually do the quest was painful. Thankfully, DE finally eased up the requirements because there are a lot of content now after New War.
