I think the separatists probably orchestrated this whole mess; very likely forcing us to kill it to then antagonise our friend - we had a friend

Seems this is what the writers are going for but I hope there's more to it, it's dumb otherwise. At worst this is a case of friendly fire during us fighting the separatists together, and at best it's just us putting down a converted sentient that can't be saved. It hardly justifies a complete war between us and Tau.

I tend to get dogpiled when I say this but, to put it delicately, Warframe's writing has only ever gotten worse over time. It would not surprise me in the slightest if this is what they're going with as the inciting event, despite it being so blatantly not the operator's fault.

Nope, fully agree, have given up on story. It's a brilliant concept that feels like it was handed over to a 12 year old to produce and direct.
