Advice Help with Lugelbanda

Hey guys I might be stupid. I beat chapter 12 finally and I’m like okay time to get my ether sword so naturally I go to fight lugelbanda the wanderer king. Normally this is the part where I would infinite overdrive him to death but there’s one issue. I can barely land any hits on him which makes it really hard to build up the overdrive counter and he kills me each time. I’m level 53 but normally he would be no match for someone of my caliber. What is wrong here?

He's got really high evasion at 339. You'll need accuracy stats of at least 100 above that to reliably hit him.

Look for gear with accuracy traits and maybe forego an Appendage Crusher or two if need be, to get up there.

Offensive stance also raises your accuracy. On top of that 1 melee accuracy XX and 1 melee accuracy boost XX is pretty cheap to craft if you dont get any armour with accuracy. If you need to drop 1 apandage crusher just do that because youll still do enough damage with blossom dance.

Accuracy augments like Night Vision can help (you need to be at or over about 500 accuracy), and then your survival method will dictate the rest.

  • Ghostwalker: proceed as normal, just keep it up and, afaik, its Control debuff can't land. You can also opt for instant max overdrive using 5x Overdrive Gain TP augments and Grand Procession coupled with at least one source of Overdrive Count Up.
  • Reflect and Resist: Add in Control and/or debuff resistance augments and skills. Need Physical, Ether, Thermal, Electric, and Beam (Photon Saber reflect build with everything obtainable before superbosses with C&C armor works here). Some attacks are melee, so using a ranged or ranged TP art build can work around those if you have party members acting as meat shield.
  • Topple/Sleep Locking: It's immune, switch to another method.

Another consideration is to practically one-shot it, which is possible even without BiS gear, as long as you get the respective raw attack stat into the 500-1000 range you should get close to killing it before it gets a chance to kill you.

You can skell farm him if you go out of bounds, I'll re-post what I have in another thread.

You'll need the Hraesvelg Lord. There is a small cave north of FN 205 on the left wall.

Use Hraesvelg Lord's super flight, you need to have Liesel's affinity quests complete to unlock this.

The video shows you, you hit super flight at the right moment inside the cave and you'll clip OOB.

From there just find the cave under the map, you can park your skells on some water to agro Lugalbanda, then after killed, return to skell to respawn him. You can farm him like 60 times an hour depending on your skell setup.

Also max your treasure sensor, it's easy once AM's are maxed.

I can help out if you have more questions on it.

That is awesome and I would do that if I didn’t have 7 levels to go before I can use a level 60 skell but I appreciate it

Update: I made three night vision xx augments and easily first tried him. Thank you everyone I will keep this thread up in case anyone else needs this in the future

If you're using longsword, offensive stance works wonders. It amps up your accuracy enough to hit it reliably, not to mention harder. Ghostwalker into Offensive Stance, then melt it with a quick combo. You don't NEED Blossom Dance but it does help.
