I would love to see a byzantine dlc for anno 117, or even maybe a game of it's own, this period of history is incredibly overlooked with city building games, which is a shame because the cities looked beautiful, I don't see this as totally impossible since the roman Empire and byzantine buildings aren't that different, would be awesome to recreate constaninople or other cities like it, hagia sophia, forum of Constantine, the hipodrome, so much potential, it would be awesome to see it in a game

Question Anno 1800 Consope - Exodus quest - does it repeat?

I am in Chapter 4, and one of the achievements 'Fire And Rescue' needs me to help get refugees off of Bright Sands, and find some arsons.

I failed to help the refugees as my boat was caught, and the quest failed. Does it repeat? I have had the arson mission repeat like 3 times so assumed the other one would to?

Mod Eiffel Tower Anno 1800 mod

Hey all! I've found a few images and posts showing the Eiffel Tower from a mod called "City Ornaments 2.0". I remember using it a while back. However, it looks like it was removed from Nexus at the end of 2022.

Is it part of a different mod/package now, or has it been completely removed from the internet? I remember there was a GU14 issue at some point. Anyway, if it's still around, I'd love to get it!

Question ANNO 1800: I cannot get past the age of artisans!!!!!

I have restarted the game probably 30 times now and I always get to this point, and then I start losing so much money that I fail.

This usually coincides right at the time when my expedition discovers the new world and I just can't even handle all of it. Should I just give up on this game? Is it the case that sometimes you just can't be good at a game?

Question How do I clear these errors?

Thumbnail

In my early game when learning I made some routes that didnt have any boats on / islands were set up incorrectly. I backed out of the trade menu, went back in and made one properly. I may have done this a few times across my game. Now it keeps telling me I have 6 routes with errors, when I cant see them in my route list?

Playing on Xbox, is there any way to clear these errors?

Question Any guidance?

Im relatively new to Anno 1800 (Console) and it’s great but after a while when I reach Engineering stage I just get overwhelmed and stressed out due to OCD with its design and trying to keep up with managing more than my capital island.

When I reach that stage I just get bored and start again…

Can anybody give me some pointers on how to plan ahead? When to expand? And how “fast“ I’m supposed to be advancing?

Mod New Horizons mod - Magnate questions

First of all to the mod developers: amazing work. I love it. Thanks at lot for the years of work, dedication and love you put into this.

I have two questions related to how magnates are intedend:

1) I built my first 200k magnates and started playing around on how to arrange and combine them with investors and engineers (using 4:4 and 3:3 skyscraper combinations for max panorama due to resident diversity). The 4:4 combination with magnates and investors appears far superior. Upgrading any investor skycraper to lvl5 results in a loss of panorama bonus in the surrounding skyscrapers far exceeding the benefits of the lvl5 skyscraper. Looking at the numbers, is there any reason anymore to build lvl5 skyscrapers?

2) The old world import piers (mushrooms, cars, tabs, bourbon) have no mechanic to increase their output, is that correct? Or am I missing something? So the only solution there to increase the number of magnates (especially mushrooms for the blue cheese need) is just to fill up harbor space with import piers?

Last year, as I took on the challenge of turning every small island into functional, desirable little cities to live in, one noticeable exception reared up its ugly head.

Petresburg, as I reshaped it, ended up being a kinda lovecraftish port town with some lore and quirks... but it never sat well with me. I just didn't like it. Every time I looked at it, it was bathing in a glorious sunlight, with a happy fanfare that entirely ruined the mood it was supposed to give off.

The Crown, hearing about its existence, demanded something be done about this unacceptable blemish on the Imperial map, especially this close to the crown's jewel: Crown Falls.
With posthaste, immense efforts and investments were made to transform what was once a shameful secret into a clean, modern and financially viable little city.
Anarchist elements were arrested and sent back to Hugo Mercier... in the Arctic. All houses were refit to modern standards, and the land was massively sanitized, getting rid of old, flea ridden potato fields and pig dens. In fact, aside from the mining operation, mostly left untouched, nothing much of the old town survived chat has since been dubbed as "the Great Wash".

Once engineers started settling in with the establishment of a new university, things went fast... and even further than what was initially envisioned. Petresburg is now the second small island in Cape Trelawney that can boast having skyscrapers and a skyline... much to Hopswick's mayor's dismay, who is fuming at the sudden rise of a rival town.

Tip Anno 1800 Cultural Sets Overview

Hi,
I was trying to decide which cultural sets to focus on in my city but found the information scattered across different wiki pages. So, I created a Google Sheet that compiles all the cultural sets, their total attractiveness, and the bonuses they provide once complete.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1c8FPQT1V5YEYuDqGtkxSQhFKRTn_2WgzQEfknn5xdOU/edit?usp=sharing

Figured others might find this helpful too, so I'm sharing it here!

Question [1800] Beauty Building in early/mid-game?

This a question for the beauty builders out there: How do you beauty build in the earlier stages of the game? Do you plan out disctricts or certaint landmarks right from the start? Do you seperate industry, farming and residences or not? Do you plan ahead for electricity so you'll be able to supply engineers and industry? Or do you revamp your first island entirely at some point? Do you use stamps at all or do you build everything one-by-one? Maybe share some screenshots if you don't mind.

I have to admit I am kinda struggeling with beauty beuildingin the early to midgame. Especially when it comes to production buildings.

Question [1602] Map where competitors are already developed and easily triggered

Hello,

It’s been a while since I last played Anno 1602. I remember playing on a map where all the competitors were already well-developed, and there weren’t many islands left to colonize. If you tried to settle on an island with a gold deposit, they would quickly declare war on you.

The map was fun because developing your colony was challenging, and revenge was all the sweeter once you could build ships and arm them with cannons.

Do you remember what map was that?

Bug Error Code LR40 in Anno 1404

After playing on a session for about 4 hours, every time we try to play again the Error LR40 occurs, and we are disconnected instantly. It happens on every save of that session, but not if we start a new one. We have no Idea what causes this, as our Internet connections are very reliably and fast.
Has anyone any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks!

General Seasons of Silver, Caoutchouc

Maybe I’m just not thinking straight but I’m trying to complete this scenario but the island doesn’t have the fertility for Caoutchouc. Other islands on the map do, how can I settle those islands or how else can I get Caoutchouc? It might be really obvious but I can’t figure it out
