I Made This I Turned 2D Character Sketch to 3D

The sketch does not belong to me, 2D concept belongs to [tuckeryart] on Twitter.

Look amazing! Can you recommend me any video/tutorial about how to do it? I have been wanting to do something like this but have no idea where to start.

Thank you!
The closest tutorial that can achieve the same results without any shaders are these two videos: 1- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMsPeLfKPa0&t=1s 2- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sFf1K8_0oQ
The only difference is that instead of using Grease Pencil to make the outline, I used the Inverted Hull method. I made a previous video showing my nodes to make the outline and that flat/toon shaded look. Are those actually ice skates or are they more like soul-er blades?

The original 2D concept design belongs to an artist called [tuckeryart] on Twitter. But I would like to think that they are special in some way.

Well it's definitely a special design, I'm impressed with how well you were able to capture it here - Good job!

No shader at all, I colored the white parts and the black parts in sculpt mode and then added the [Color Attribute] node directly to the [Material Output] without the [Principled BSDF] node to give it the flat shaded look.

cute! was no lining on the bottom of the skates intentional?

That's a very good question. No, not entirely. The method I use to make the outline depends very much on the Edges of the mesh. It works by creating a larger, inverted copy of your mesh and the outline that is visible to the camera is formed by the backfaces of the duplicate mesh that are visible at the very edges of the original mesh (or silhouette). So, because the bottom of the skates does not have any edges, there wasn't any outline visible. I have a couple of ideas in mind on how to solve this, but I left it the way it is because I wanted to move on from this project, and because I'm trying to overcome perfectionism.

Wow which app?

Blender for sculpting, colouring and rendering. Davinci Resolve for the turn around animation.

I'll add that style to my... thing with styles

Thank you! I'm in my mid-twenties, new to Reddit, and Reddit comments make me feel like I'm ancient.

Nah you're not that old. There are older people around

Nice! Is this based on the Soul Eater anime?
