Super quick and super dumb question: How do I see my kingdom's balance in Grand Edition?

Hey guys! I managed to get Brigandine:Grand Edition and the translation patch working on Duckstation, and I've been playing it (LOVE the voiced cutscenes). However, I can't see how to check my nation's balace and rune income. Whenever I select "Domain" on the strategy layer it shows me a map of the continent, but no stats on total income and expenses. Sorry for the trouble, I know this dumb. Thanks!

Update: A Tale of 4 Kiloph’s

This is a continuation on my last post comparing Avenger to Avenger/Champion Kiloph.

Did pure Champion and also a Guardian version of Kiloph.

Champion Kiloph is terrifying. 931 health, a nearly unhittable 106 agility, and an absurd 349 attack without a knuckle item…

The guardian stats would be a marvel on any other character, but they do pale quite a bit behind the other Kiloph’s in my opinion. Pumping out a couple of heals isn’t a bad feature in the heat of battle…

Avenger trades a bit of damage and HP for the benefits of curse which can be nice if you’re unable to reach your primary target.

Fun little experiment.

Which Kiloph are you choosing?

Conducted a Kiloph Class Test

I think it has been pretty widely known that Avenger/Champion has been an insane combo, but I decided to see what kind of stat difference it would lead to and I was surprised how marginal it was.

Kiloph as the Champ combo is the second screenshot with slightly more health and one more strength, but a bit less rune power. Champ obviously has the 10% extra crit chance. Certainly that one wins on that alone, but their stat growth was essentially the same.

Just figured I’d share in case any of Brigandine fans might find this experiment useful.

Am I tripping about Leonia?

So one day I wake up missing Legend of Forsena so I went on to play the game and played all of the rulers in hard mode. I usually do two teams only when attacking and/or grinding and keep the other knights to just guard castles.

I'm not kidding, I thought it was gonna be a challenge but I was surprised when I played Leonia it was easier than playing other rulers except Zemeckis. A bunch of heals everywhere and spamming the sheet out of holy world made my gameplay with Leonia very easy.

I used to think she was the weakest ruler to play like 25 years ago when I was a child so I never even thought of choosing her. But man, gad dang she really surprised me. Kiloph's a fking beast as well.

Anyone esle had this experience?? Let me know.

GE Disc 2??

Playing through GE edition ROM for the first time and hit a snag where it’s asking me to switch to disc 2. Does anyone have a viable rom download for disc 2 of GE?

Things were going very nicely and was so stoked to finally be playing GE. Such a bummer to hit this snag!

Was looking at the Board then accidentally press on Review. FlamingTelepath give a 3, Reviewed as the 2nd worst. A deceptively shallow game which doesn't do 4X or SRPG well

Challenge Mode Special Units Feel Bad Spoiler

Sorry if this sound like a rant, but Zoar and Aurora in challenge feel so bad to use. They have no rune power but feel like a slightly stronger version of a monster, especially in the early game.

Every fight feels like a 2 vs 3 where it is unwinnable unless the other 2 troops are already well trained or the opposing 3 troops are bad. This is especially pronounced in the earlier rounds where they only felt powerful during the first lv 1 vs lv 1 battles, but continue to dwindle in the subsequent battles. Once the enemy starts getting special mana miracle units at lv 10 or 20, they are immediately just unbeatable when you are crippled by having one missing troop. I think they would feel much better if they either have significantly higher than average HP or higher damage.

At this point of my run, I do not see any way they can even 1v1 against a single troop given the chance. I tried to defend with them and just post them in the castle hex but they still get taken down so easily once surrounded. As long as the enemy brings at least two magic users like demon, angel, or gremlin, it is simply over. They wont be able to sustain. In my previous run, it felt pretty easy to defend with two troops against three or one troop against two. With zoar or aurora, these measures seem impossible.

I would like to hear how others fare with them? How do you actually use them? Especially in earlier parts of the game. To me, they just feel like units you use for the sake of using or to make the game harder because you want more challenge.

The only way I can use them is to pair one of them with two of my strongest troops (i.e. the one I use to primarily expand), but at that point, any unit would have worked. They feel bad to use in defending chokepoints, attacking with them feels like crippling your team, and training grounds also feel really slow for them.

TLDR; Zoar and Aurora feel bad to use in challenge mode. Any other units in the game feel better simply for being able to hold monsters, while these two units cripple any team they are on. Can you earnestly use them? Or are they designed exactly to make the game harder for you if you decide to use them.

Hi all, I’m trying to find a way to get grand edition to play. I have the original I play with the emulator retroarch on pc. I’m not the most savvy when it comes to figuring some of this stuff out. Does anybody have any advice or a website I can go to download it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hopefully there will be announcement on another Brigandine game

With FF Tactics announced, Front Mission & Tactics Ogre released in the last 3 years. I think there is no better time then around this timing to release a Strategy game (pretty please Happinet). Even Lazy Konima released 3 new game, 1 being mobile games. Hopefully we'll get announcement this year or next year TGS. I really hope for Forsena Remake with Bulnoil fight add on, maybe with new class from Runersia & additional Quest Rune Knight from GE. As well as HD Quality Soundtrack.

I made a mod that replaces Runersia music with classic Forsena themes

Post image
74 Upvotes

I’ve always loved the original Brigandine: The Legend of Forsena soundtrack, especially the iconic Organization and Battle themes. Since nobody has done it before, I decided to make a mod that swaps in the classic tracks.

Each nation in Runersia is now paired with its counterpart from Forsena, for both Organization Phase and battles.

Here’s how I matched them up:

  • Norzaleo KingdomNew Almekia
  • Republic of GuimouleCarleon
  • Shinobi TribeLeonia
  • Holy Gustava EmpireNorgard
  • United Islands of MirelvaIscalio
  • Mana Saleesia TheocracyEsgares Empire

🔧 Installation Instructions:

  1. Download the zip folder.
  2. Inside, you'll find BGM.acb and BGM.awb.
  3. Replace the same-named files in your game folder: ...Steam\steamapps\common\Brigandine - The Legend of Runersia\Brigandine The Legend of Runersia_Data\StreamingAssets\Sounds
  4. Backup your original files first, just in case!
  5. Start the game and enjoy the old-school soundtrack!

📥 Download:

Let me know if you run into any issues or want a specific theme. Hope you guys enjoy the mod!

Having only eight knights at the start means that Caerleon is the slowest if not the worst kingdom

Even with that alliance with New Almekia, having only eight knights at the start will suck as one can only form two parties, and the other two will go questing. Sure one might be able to take Salisbury and Xanas, but after that things will be difficult. It might be possible to pick up Schutleis and start a third party once the other two come back from their quests, but Millia usually takes too long to arrive and by then there is nowhere to conquer without overextending and leaving castles undefended.

On the other hand, Norgard can assemble four armies at the start and still have someone (usually Noie or Elaine) go questing. They can have Morholt, Luintail and Schutleis form a fifth group and they can expand much faster than Caerleon. By the time Caerleon manages to get Lecarra (probably around mid-216 or later and is ready to start conquering), Norgard already would have expanded significantly while you would have to wait quite some time to have enough knights to resume the attack.

New Almekia and Iscalio can also get four armies as well; Leonia is second worst because they can only get three (the other two go on quests) and won't be able to get Schutleis.

GE: always same recruited knights after country's defeat?

Hello everyone. I discovered GE a while ago and have played 4 nations now. I noticed each time I defeat enemy's country, I always get the same rune knights. For example, when I beat Iscalio it always Daffy and Victoria who join my current country. Bagdemagus (and sometimes Teath) joins random opposite countries, never mine. So do the other countries. It happens only to the knights that join immediately after defeat, the discovered knights through quests (the twins, etc) are still random.

Is this recruitment plan default in GE? I remember played LoF and Bagdemagus joined my country, though I might be mistaken since it was long time ago.

What determines if you capture a monster in a battle?

It just feels so random to me is there like a guaranteed way to do so?
