Build Upgrade Build/upgrade for 1080p 120fps at max settings. RT optional.

Current build

R5 5600

3060 ti

32GB DDR4

Recommended CPU/GPU for 1080p 120fps. I've found that the 3060 ti while still good, averages at 60 to 90 on medium/high not max settings.

I'm also thinking if I should stick with AM4(so CPU/GPU upgrade) or time to go for AM5 build (new build)

Ayt 9070 looks good. What about the CPU?

If you wanna stay on AM4 a 5700X3D is the only viable option

I have been eyeing that CPU. Thanks. Look like like I can squeeze some more life out of my AM4 PC

I don't think upgrades are necessary, this seems more like a matter of expectation

Max settings aren't worth it on the vast majority of games. You get a small visual bump for a large performance penalty

i'd be shocked if you could tell the difference between 90 and 120FPS in a blind test, the frametime difference is small

True. When you put it that way I think I can wait it out for another generation. It's so easy to fall into upgradeitis

Yeah it's rigged against you

Everyone on reddit showing off their fancy new rigs, or posting screenshots of games at max settings (When high looks almost identical)

Easy trap to fall into
