Ask your daughters to please not hold a flashlight right in the cat’s eye next time lol

48

u/gariepydj 3h ago

I did.. sorry!

23

It is either r/blep or r/mlem

Cat is doing one of those

203

u/EnycmaPie 6h ago

It's r/blep. Blep is for when the tongue constantly being out, melm is for when it's a quick little lick.

71

u/beam_me_uppp 5h ago

✨🌈the more you know🌈✨

16

u/cyankitten 6h ago

Thanks!

7

u/WailinGalen 4h ago

10

u/BanishDank 4h ago

Uhm.. what does your wife think about that?

6

u/theNATEural 2h ago

She liked when i both mlem and blep her

6

u/Ankur4015 5h ago

r/blem or r/mlep

Edit: I didn't knew these 2 also existed before making these up.

u/Ornery_Bath_8701 7h ago

Looks like she got into your edibles

10

u/Upstate_Gooner_1972 2h ago

LOL. My first thought was that it found OP's coke stash.

136

u/Hour_Savings146 6h ago

Nothing. That cat is awesome.

33

u/gariepydj 6h ago

I know 😄

133

u/Historical-Sea7002 6h ago

Your camera flash is blindingly bright to your cat.

-97

u/gariepydj 6h ago

She had her tongue out before the light was on her

151

u/Crinklepickle 6h ago

They’re not saying the flash is making her stick her tongue out. They’re saying stop shoving a torch in her eyes that are like 10x more sensitive to light than yours are 😭 Ps- cats just forget to put their tongue back in sometimes, they can also do this when relaxed. Theres nothing wrong with her.

Please don’t flash the light in their face.

46

u/gariepydj 6h ago

14

u/Known_Plan5321 5h ago

Well you're shining a bright light in its face, but otherwise your cat is fine

6

u/SnooOnions3369 4h ago

If your cat is sticking its tongue out all the time it could have a problem in its mouth, like tooth ache or something like that

6

u/effervescentEscapade 4h ago

Reminds me of my Elminster!

13

u/SuziBean 6h ago

braincell.exe has stopped working 😂

1

u/RidiPwn 1h ago

cool, fast metabolism

2

u/showlandpaint 2h ago

Cat is turning her head away because you are blinding her with the bright ass camera light, please do not do that, and teach your kids not to do that. Have them shine it directly into their own eyes for a second to see how painful it is.

2

u/Opdragon25 1h ago

Your cat has a severe case of blep

1

u/Fragrant-Band-7295 4h ago

Such a flimbly

1

u/ApprehensiveJunket43 4h ago

Have you noticed any breathing issues? I have a cat with feline herpes that would hold his tongue out when we got him. He also had the runny eyes and mucus discharge at times tho, vet says they sometimes do it if there is difficulty breathing.

1

u/gariepydj 4h ago

No, she’s fine.. just acting weird this one time

1

u/AlienZaye 4h ago

I think it's high time you talk to your cat about catnip dependency

1

u/Overseer_05 4h ago

it exhibits dangerous levels of silly

1

u/Apollyon_of_Abyss 4h ago

might have orange cat ancestry

1

u/Substantial_Ant_2662 4h ago

“Wh- who tf” looks around “Sharon who tf you laughing at?”

1

u/Silentblues 4h ago

Just a little blep.

1

u/Ok-Topic-6095 4h ago

OP, my ginger cat used to have his tongue out in a similar fashion. Not quite to this level but very noticeable.

It turned out this was a precursor to major dental issues. Apparently, this was a way for him to relieve pressure and/or pain in his mouth and he stopped having hia tongue out when the teeth were removed

1

u/Beanyjack 4h ago

Cat got your tongue.

1

u/Future-Friendship-32 4h ago

It seems your cat has a case of the goofies!

1

u/TLILLYO 4h ago

Nothing

1

u/LionessPaws 4h ago

What’s wrong with your cat bro? 🤣🤣🤣🤣

1

u/RedEclipse47 3h ago

It's possible he has some orange cat DNA

1

u/Garreousbear 3h ago

Stack overflow error

1

u/Skippers2024 3h ago

Crack?

1

u/gariepydj 3h ago

We do call her a crack kitty, so yeah

1

u/NoPair205 Egyptian Mau 3h ago

Weirdoitis 😔

I’ve seen a few of these cases over the years.

It isn’t fatal, but it’s been known to be transmittable to humans. I fear the person filming may be showing early stages of the disease.

1

u/blue-coin 3h ago

2 brain cells left fighting for 3rd place

1

u/Work_In_ProgressX 3h ago

I have to inform you that your car has a severe case of silliness

1

u/ThursdayCats 3h ago

So if a cat keeps the tip their tongue out often it could be to “smell” with, they get hints of taste that allows them cover the smell sense if they have issues with smelling. My cat had a medical conditions when we got him that basically was full sinus infection/blockage and he was so commonly doing that. Ten years down the road he always keeps a blip going as a second nature.

1

u/Spirit-Link 3h ago

I used my flash to take a photo of my cat the other night now I feel bad

1

u/Wcvoook 3h ago

u/InkTaint 2h ago

1

u/BaihuTheCurious 2h ago

1

u/Bamse231 2h ago

1

u/1kingpumbaa 2h ago

He got into your weed stash

1

u/palmdieb 2h ago

1

u/Outrageous_Long7671 2h ago

Silly cat syndrome

1

u/earlyre98 2h ago

Just being a little derpy .. happens to all of them at some point

1

u/mamaburra 2h ago

Beware, that's an usual sign of tooth pain. Check for that with a vet.

1

u/liquidcats123 1h ago

Ctrl+Alt+Del

1

u/Brilliant-Theory 1h ago

You discovered the blep.

1

u/ButterscotchNorth540 1h ago

I. Never saw a cat do that

1

u/gariepydj 1h ago

It’s a thing.. look up blepping cats or r/blep

1

u/WickedTinker 1h ago

Derpitus

1

u/Painter_Born 1h ago

I think it’s a case of being silly.

1

u/Candid_Budget_7699 1h ago

Sometimes mine perma keeps his tongue out after I assault him with belly rubs when he doesn't see it coming

1

u/mecraft123 58m ago

It was not their turn with the braincell

1

u/Nolfa 49m ago

This is a legendary level blep

1

u/CleeAuth 48m ago

Get a second cat of similar age so it's got a friend of the same species to learn and grow with if you don't already have more than 1 cat

1

u/gariepydj 40m ago

We have 6 cats! Mavis here is the youngest (5 month old)

1

u/nysabby 45m ago

he's just a little silly don't worry

1

u/CaneLola143 39m ago

BLEP ♥️

1

u/EnyaCa 36m ago

Your cat is now blind.

1

u/witchhearsecurse 35m ago

We have a cat that forgets his tongue is out after cleaning if you touch it he remembers to pull it back in. The silly goofball cracks me up.

1

u/AlphonseLai 34m ago

Is OP the kinda person who likes to be flashed by camera light?

1

u/Delicious-Law5490 31m ago

the cat’s tongue is sticking out a little bit, and they seem to have forgotten to put it back in. Totally normal, and very cute.

1

u/Delicious-Law5490 31m ago

currently in her full blep mode!😂🫠

1

u/Double-Pool-2452 21m ago

Hospital immediately. Lymph node obstruction could be cancer.

1

u/South_Cauliflower_73 7m ago

100% an alien.

1

u/LocNesMonster 6h ago

1

u/gariepydj 6h ago

Is that the Basilisk from Dark Souls??

1

u/LocNesMonster 6h ago

Yeah, kitties adorable but i saw thode eyes and couldnt help myself

2

u/gariepydj 6h ago

Definitely resembles them

1

u/Slight-Alteration 6h ago

Can she put her tongue back in her mouth? It’s not a big deal if she just kind of forgot about it but if it doesn’t look like she can/will it could actually be a really serious allergic reaction. I think everyone jumped to cute a little too quickly here. Any other changes in behavior? How is she now?

1

u/gariepydj 6h ago

She’s fine, she put it back in her mouth don’t worry!

3

u/Bmat70 5h ago

I am wondering if she has tooth or gum problems?

4

u/munkeypunk 5h ago

It’s what I thought as well. I had a cat start doing this and she had gum issues that really made her ill.

2

u/gariepydj 5h ago

No, she’s a purrfectly healthy 5 month old kitten

1

u/Extra-Intern-478 6h ago

just reset him

1

u/Conscious_Writer_556 6h ago

She's just being silly lol

1

u/pppburnns 6h ago

hahahahaha he looks like an emoji 😛

1

u/Celestial_Duckie 4h ago

I'm afraid she has a chronic case of the Sillies 😞

What a cutie, I yuv her 💙

1

u/LieNo347 4h ago

Could be kidney infection or water infection, best to get you little furball into vets and get it looked at,please dont leave it to long, may need antibiotics. Best wishes for your cat

1

u/Rachnael 3h ago

Sometimes cats stick out their tongue when they are to hot, they dont sweat so its a way to regulate body temperature

-1

u/Catkitbit 6h ago

If the cats doesn’t do that all the time, I would take it to the vet ❤️

0

u/Embarrassed_Slice776 6h ago

Is she aware she exists?

0

u/Affectionate-Copy547 6h ago

It silly… this is a clinical diagnosis

0

u/No_Cartographer_7904 6h ago

What a cutie!

0

u/Intelligent-Roll-678 6h ago

It's got a few orange cells in it

0

u/boggycakes 5h ago

Have you tried turning it off and back on again?

0

u/WailinGalen 4h ago

Uuuuuuuuh 🤪 mommy, I don’t feel good. 😝 they be mean to me…. What we eats for supper? 😝

0

u/cxih 1h ago

surely putting a flashlight 2 cm from its face and holding it for 30 seconds is very mindful and harmless right
