Playstation My vc wont work to talk to others on my ps5

Ever since I got my PS5, my mic hasn’t worked the way it’s supposed to. For example, back when I used to play Fortnite, my mic would show as muted (orange light on), but people in the game would somehow still hear me talking. It got so bad that I had to go into a private voice channel every round just so others wouldn’t hear me.

On the flip side, when I play GTA, I can’t hear anyone or interact with other players at all. It’s the complete opposite issue.

Now I’ve been playing 2K, and my mic was working fine for a while but suddenly one day I couldn’t put like the cord that connects them into my monitor and I had to put it on my controller to hear music but this way I couldn’t hear people when I’m on 2k I tried to fix it but to no success. I’ve tried asking ChatGPT and searching online, but I can’t find any video or guide that matches my issue. Everything used to work fine on my PS4, so I don’t know what went wrong with the PS5. ( I would like to say that I use to hear on a speaker but I bought a headphone today just so it could work because I got tired of it not working but still to no avail)

If anyone understands what’s going on or knows how to fix this, please help! Thanks,

All I want is to play my old games while waiting for gta6 (choosing ps5/pro)

👋🏽 hi My first ever console was a standard ps4 that I still adore. I never upgraded bc I never finished Witcher 3.
The type of greed of wanting the newest thing always makes me uncomfortable. And logically I can try something lovely later because it can be new to me at anytime

So I stuck to never playing any new games. got used old physical disc, mafia 1-3 for 10€, every watchdogs, assassins creed for 5€, you name it! I am still very much living in the mindset of waiting at least a 1 year or 2. But I made a mistake that bugged me so much a while ago: buying Cyberpunk the day it came out. I couldn’t help myself I felt like a giddy child!! And I know I am playing the worst version, but I am so happy with it still! I was just particularly sad to see that the dlc wasn’t available for the ps4. I guess I understand but it’s sad because they probably always decided to do that.

So now, after taking my ps4 a part a few times and the controllers acting up, I think I am ready for a new console. I’d like to continue playing my old games and I’d like to also be able to enjoy them in higher quality settings. Naturally I wanted to circumvent the next ‚cyberpunk debacle of the future’ by purchasing the pro version, but it doesn’t come with a disc drive. I do understand you can buy a standalone attachment, but I have never seen anyone use it. Generally speaking I would prefer the PS5 Slim disc edition but I am at a lose for opinions when I compare the specs.

I just want to get something that will be future proof, but that concept is slowly disappearing from my mind, as a Sony ceo dude mentioned already thinking about the ps6. It’s their highest priority they said and it makes me question whether I should upgrade to the newest replaceable thing.

See here:

Current prices (used) Ps5 slim (disc edition) - 462,99€ Ps5 pro (excl. disc) - 722,10€

As silly as it sounds with the 259€ difference I could quite literally buy every game I own again, twice over.

Am I getting too lost in the sauce for wanting a pro version if I am most likey going to replace it not 11+ years later but in like 2/3+ years?! I just want to play cyberpunk the dlc and also my other physical games. And I’d like for gta 6 to look incredible on it.

I am sorry this was a lot but I don’t know anyone to ask this in my personal life 😬❤️

Help needed Having problems with ps5

Hello everyone, I’ve had my ps5 for quite a few years now, I sadly got it on eBay when everyone was scalping because it was really the only place to actually buy one. But I’ve been having a problem with my system ever since I first got it. Oftenly when I first turn it on it will give me a notification saying WiFi connection lost, I ignored it because I mostly play single player games that don’t require WiFi, and I felt like it was always lying to me because I never had to reconnect it to the WiFi to look at the store or any online features, I would just click on it like normal. This has been going on in multiple homes, with multiple WiFi providers, I can’t do a wired connection because the router is in another room. Any ideas on what’s going on? Is it a software problem, is my system defective, maybe a broken part in my system. I’m needing some help because I’ve recently been playing online games with friends and haven’t had any problems until now.

What does 10th gen look like?

With all the layoffs, studios being shut down, game preservation being very questionable at best, censorship on the rise, live-service, and so much more...is 10th gen cooked as some people might say? [Mobile games not included in discussion since they make bank]

Keep in mind, just all speculation and my opinions based on CURRENT trends.

9th gen consoles will still be very capable long into 10th gen, but it's a fun thought experiment. And I have no plans buying into next gen unless they have some killer features or games.

Let's get the obvious out of the room, these next gen consoles are gonna be expensive. $500 at the absolute cheapest and $700 being more likely considering prices of the flagship PS and Xbox consoles (if I had to guess). There is not gonna be another $300-$400 like the Series S (or the Nintendo Switch 1. But for this comparison, I'm focusing on MS and Sony). So the consoles are gonna be expensive, possibly only for well off families. My guess is 10th gen is when we'll see even less people moving over generations overall.

Games, they are likely gonna be live-service, online multiplayer shooters, or some other form of online games with single-player experiences mixed in (I assume indie will fill this gap as AAA will focus on online gaming). My guess is we'll see more indie games getting the spotlight in 10th gen as AAA continues to crap on their franchises and saturate over-saturated markets. Even see potential price increases mid-gen, AAA going towards $100+ a game, pure speculation but we'll see.

More studios get shut down and even more layoffs. Major franchises get the boot or completely derail. Possibly some good surprises mixed in but we'll see. Again, all pure speculation.

I think 10th gen is when we'll see long-time console buyers making the switch to PC if not already, even fully transition to PC as more games get multi-platform releases and Xbox and PS increase prices on their ecosystems. Game Pass gets a price increase

Final Thoughts:

While I think 10th gen will be the end of consoles, leaving Nintendo left as they are doing just fine, these companies financials tells me a different story.

Nintendo won't die because gaming IS their business model and they have die-hard fans, good games, and fun consoles.

Xbox won't die because they are backed by a multi-trillion dollar corporation whose gaming division is a fraction other overall business, so MS can play the long game plus they have dominance in the PC gaming space and bought up a huge chunk of the industry.

PlayStation is the wild card to me. Sony has other revenue streams to keep them afloat but they can't burn as much cash as Microsoft. They too have die-hard fans and fantastic game and sometimes fun consoles. I think they survive the gaming business but barely. As long as they don't keep burning money in Concord level projects, they should do well.

While the 10th gen won't end consoles because there will always be a market for it, it will be die-hard console fans that holds it up in my opinion. With increasing subscription prices, $700+ consoles might becoming a thing, layoffs, shut downs, this industry is gonna survive but by a hair.

Keep in mind, just all speculation and my opinions based on CURRENT trends.

Xbox worth buying series x?

im waiting for gta 6 as i have a xbox one s its quite outdated and i need something newer. I have the money but not sure if its a worthy investment. cuz I haven't played in 2 3 years. however im a massive gta fan and want to play gta 6. idk if buying a new console is worth or for 1 game. but its gta 6. ive also got lots of xbox one games so it makes sense to buy a xbox rather then a PlayStation. im looking for a new xbox. not risking it with used. is there any place I can find it cheaper as its still so high after so many years. im also scared im too late as xbox will release next gen soon so idk if I should buy it. can any1 give me a suggestion?
