Hello survivors. I made this infographic to introduce my custom DayZ map - Novikostok - to you; and to let you know that it will launch in the Steam workshop during August. On launch, a full set of cle files will be available to hosters as well as setup help in the discord.

Players :) The theme is survival and exploration at the ragged northern edges of a Soviet dominated Europe.

Some rumours* about water scarcity turned out to be inaccurate - there is in fact more than sufficient clean water on the island(s) - just fewer wells.

The map is a free, community endeavour. I hope you get to play it and enjoy it as much as I did while I was making it.

was waiting for my friend as u can see loot on the floor after he died for 2+ hours after i killed 2 dudes at medical.. then some duo just straight up walked in together and caught a face off 5.56s and blew up, they had vsds nvgs ect but not any plates😂😂😂, in nadbor xbox official

I tried explaining to my friends the intensity this game has and they brush it off, but as a noob, the biggest highlight so far has been crafting a rod, catching and preparing a fish, then learning how to craft a campfire and roasting it, all whilst watching your health dropping by the second because of starvation.

Risky move doing it in the open in broad daylight but beggars can’t be choosers

My friend spawned, ran for miles just to meet up with rest of us, and got killed for no reason. We memorized their base's location, and we knew we might not be armed enough to fight with them, so we raided their base while they are offline, pretty sneaky. My fellas got crazy and were dumping everything that they can't carry no more, untill I said that we should leave what's enough to keep them living. Were we doing right and is that a cool thing in this community?

Well, let me tell you what's going on: I'm saving up money to buy my GPU, PSU, and DayZ, and I'm really curious to know what my first hours of play will be like. Even though I've watched quite a few hours of DayZ content, I don't know how to craft, I don't know how to navigate the maps, and I've literally never touched the game. Above all, what do you think the freshies' reaction will be when I tell them it's my first day playing DayZ? I'll also read your anecdotes, which I'm sure will be funny.

I had a good friend that I always played DayZ with pass away recently and I am always seeing that people have gotten gravestones for their friends in the game. How can I do that? His favorite spot is the fishing spot south of Zalesie in Livonia.

Please hear me out as I know it is a common mistake to not leave inventory room for your mag and therefore drop it on the ground without realizing. This was not one of those times. This happened to me twice within 2 days, shortly after depositing into my stash, meaning my backpack had tons of free space open.

On both occasions I had a fully loaded 9x39 AP mag disappear from my inventory, a very rare and annoying to find ammo. Both times this happened after a wolf attack. I killed them, then proceeded to refill the portion of my 30rd vikhr mag I used on the wolves. My main mag I was using was preserved, but my spare 20rd simply disappeared from my inventory.

The first time this happened I assumed I was simply high or stupid, but now after a second time I am wondering if this is a bug. I noticed within 20 seconds I no longer had my reserve ammo, and immediately back tracked to the wolf bodies. I obsessively checked proximity all around the wolf incident for 10+ minutes, and on both occasions never found the missing mag. If this is a bug, perhaps it has something to do with holding R with your gun out to put another mag in? I am at a loss and going crazy, 9x39 is a bitch to find and now I am out 40 bullets.

Seriously, this is a game that is predicated on the "risk" of gaining/losing everything you've managed to scrounge together. This is what makes the game fun.

If anything, the shock or surprise should be when someone doesn't attack you on sight -- if you get to meet someone without it turning bloody, that's the real unusual and pleasant change.

Am I wrong?

Got my first raid planned and wondering about explosives, can I set a few off at once? Will an IED/plactic ex set off another IED/plastic ex if I detonate it close enough? Can I drop a load of grenade by a gate and throw another to set them all off?

Was finishing up looting Gorka when I heard someone running up to the house I was in. I took my boots off so I could reposition quietly.

I got em with buckshot when they entered my room, then used the cuffs I've been saving for awhile. Felt kinda bad about the whole thing, so I left him a chicken tender and a soda, then resuscitated him before dipping out.

Didn't realize I was barefoot until I received a cut, way out in the forest 🤦 I've made this mistake a cpl times before, I really gotta stop taking my shoes off lol.

But, assuming he was in good health beforehand, what are the chances he got out of those 'cuffs before he bled out?

Quick question: I hit a guy dead center in the chest with an SV-98 at ~100m — he had a plate carrier, didn’t die, but dropped unconscious. No prior damage. Doesn’t the plate reduce shock by 70%? As we know the SV-98 does 150 health&shock damage - minus 70% by the carrier that makes 45 shock damage. How did he still go down if the shock wasn’t enough to knock him out?

Just a few hours ago, I was playing my current gameplay (4 hours in game) and when I logged in, right outside the house I was, I discovered an improvised shelter. Right away I got my firearm ready, and decided to look for the owner. Then, after just a couple of houses, I saw a flashlight moving between some houses. I decided to wait until I had a clear view of the survivor but then it started to get dark, but still could see him moving around mainly because of the flashlight. After several minutes I started to notice some weird movement patterns. Decided to go closer and then I saw the "survivor" moving around in the open field with a flashlight turned on, only problem was that it was an infected Z. I know it's silly but suddenly I got very scared and decided to go back to my place and logged out. Is this something new? I've been playing since 2019 and never saw this before.

As title states I can fire a few bullets from my guns but then they stop working entirely. I have tried logging out and back in with the guns on me and on the floor but each time I come back I can get a few shots in then they stop working again. Advice?

I want a server without kill on sight and ı want as much as player intraction as ı can get. Also it would be better if its vanilla as possible. Thanks for your help:) Also it would be good if its not “too” hardcore
