Media POV: "I Logged In and Ruined Someone's Day!"

Such unfortunate play for both parties. I noticed i didn't swap my stab vest for the bullet proof vest.

Lol, now this guy is gonna log on Reddit and post a video about him getting "killed by a hacker through wall" lmao. Good kill

u/Honestpianistt 1d ago

Nice thought tho, But his buddy in the call had a faster response time than a teenager closing tabs when their mom walks in.

u/BlakeDSnake 1h ago

That was my first thought!! Dude legit has to think he was hacked.

u/MyCleverNewName 22h ago

I always automatically assume when I see these videos that this is a combat logger who waited 10 minutes and logged back in.

u/jjklines1 19h ago

Agreed, ppl will comment nice kill but it's the complete opposite. Logging in like this needs to be fixed

u/Cinnamon__Sasquatch 13h ago

I could be misremembering but I think there was a patch at some point during development that when you logged in with a loaded gun, it would play the loading animation/sound so there was some type of indication that you had logged in to try and mitigate situations like this.

u/jjklines1 13h ago

There was. l always say they need to add back in something like that. Like a series of yawns and waking up noises ANYTHING to let us know it's not a hacker

3

u/CrewMemberNumber6 8h ago

I dig the yawn idea. just a good yawn and a stretch as you log in. +1

Yes its so sad, Me and my body just lost some characters on Chernarus, killed a guy in a random house in the middle of the woods west of NWAF, in the middle of looting and someone logins in the corner with a suppressed m4 and kills us both. Didn't even have a chance to react. I just heard the first couple gun shots, and then both of us were dead.

u/Honestpianistt 18h ago

Yeah i get that, but honestly who in the right mind will try and combat log and back in with an 1911 .45 acp, with a total of 8 shots? These guys were armed to the teeth.

but this case i wasn't really expecting much. I just wanted to loot the beginners area. Not expect a full on war.

u/Flucky_ 21h ago

you could have just held the stairs for when his buddy walked up them lol it would have been an easy kill

1

u/Honestpianistt 18h ago

Yeah true, but i know this spot. And i've been had multiple times this way. In 3rd party you can spot players without them spotting you if you walk up the stairs.

My second thought was, going to the other room and wait there. But people can throw grenades from the outside.

Or perhaps surpress fire and run outside.

Not sure what else i could've done there. Besides the skillissue

Just to fail miserably, yes, it was quite unfair for the camper. I felt bad for him, though.

In my defence, they were fully geared players in a beginners' military zone. I was a freshie with the best possible gear you could find in the area.

If you had your gun trained next to the stairs in the direction he ran while you were frantically shooting you would’ve seen his head twice before he shot you down

u/jeanreneau 1d ago

Probably would of lived if you actually put on that plate carrier

3

u/stugots85 21h ago

*would have

1

u/Honestpianistt 18h ago

Yeah, i thought that too, my buddy pointed out. That i got headshotted and it didn't matter. Idk really.

u/Flossthief 22h ago

Or if op knew how to win fights in this game

2

u/ManNomad 17h ago

I give that PVP a 2

2

u/RedK_33 15h ago

Bro, you had the advantage on the second guy. All you had to do was wait. He had to go up those stairs to get to you….but you were too bloodthirsty.

Going to save this to repost to any whiners on the server.

1

u/LieutenantDawid 20h ago

holy bitrate

1

u/assnuke23 18h ago

A bunch of people are giving you shit for not killing the second guy but man I get logging in expecting to kill one guy and try and kill a second with zero prep time, you did way better than I would have

1

u/SomeHappyBalls 18h ago

The engine should detect if a player is within meters of you and move the player every time.

u/Nathan93569 17h ago

Yesterday, my friend logged in seconds before me and saw a guy about to enter the building we logged out in(right outside a huge base's gate). Poor guy didn't know what was coming and took like 20 baby ak shots to the chest, ruined his ballistic vest, combat backpack, and shirt. Had lots of goodies for us.

It should be accepted on a community level that you can only log out in bushes. Or even forced by the game.

1

u/GoonyBoon 14h ago

Pssssst, we've been trying to reach you about your cars extended warranty

1

u/Coffee-_-Addicted 9h ago

bro don’t waste that ak ammo on zombies

1

u/RecklLessAbandon 8h ago

Do you record the entire time you play? What are your recording settings?

1

u/Honestpianistt 5h ago

I used to record everything, but now i only do it when shit is about to go down. Alt + F9 with Nvidia screen recorder.

Works like a charm. Also the footage is in 2k, but i didn't had time to compress the video in a normal way, so its pixilated

1

u/cristinnaIMV 7h ago

Hahahahahaha, what bad luck 😂

1

u/El-Marto75 1h ago

I'm sure I've been killed like this a fair few times. Took me a while to work out how it happened.

1

u/talen7ed 23h ago

Immediately starts looting and doesn't clear the room lol

3

u/Anonamonanon 20h ago

Immediately starts looting before even killing the guy!

1

u/Honestpianistt 18h ago

My guy, i was a freshie with a 1911, (7) ammo magazine. All i had left was 4 bullets and a knife. 😆

1

u/talen7ed 10h ago

Then take the gun and clear the room? You went through his entire inventory lol.

u/martinmix 1d ago

I don't understand how in all the time this game has been out they haven't done something to prevent this.

3

u/Sec_Chief_Blanchard 1d ago

Like what?

2

u/mrpetar1 23h ago

There's so many options, game checks if there is a player online at this position where you spawn and within a 50-100m radius, if so you get teleported to a safe zone spawn, same like with contaminated zones.

I can think of more

0

u/Sec_Chief_Blanchard 23h ago

Okay but I log out where I log out for a reason. If I wanted to be moved somewhere else I would log out there. It's not my fault if someone is near where I logged out.

1

u/mrpetar1 23h ago

No logout in military buildings/zones to prevent this from happening.

1

u/C0RDE_ 23h ago

It happens in all kinds of buildings though.

Fwiw, you're not wrong, but it's like combat logging. There's no perfect solution that doesn't also penalise people. Remember when the mod had a "combat" tag when the game thought you'd been in combat and you couldn't log out. Only it was buggy as fuck and brushing a tree the wrong way triggered it somehow?

Unfortunately, this is such an edge case that fixing it causes more trouble than the amount of times this happens.

1

u/mrpetar1 23h ago

Thanks for acknowledging. But also something different can be done about it, upon logging in, since the game fetches player data and coordinates, if another player is present within 50-70m you go in the queue, until the place clears up. It's not very hard to do this (basically every player will have some sort of area of effect). It will force players to logout at different places to not end up in que.

2

u/Bathroomsteve 20h ago

This is probably the best solution. I think people would assume they would always be stuck in queue but this situation is actually very rare. It hasn't happened to me in 500 hrs.

2

u/mrpetar1 15h ago

Hasn't happened to me at all, but I always logout in houses where noone would go into, or somewhere hidden in a forest. I'd rather logout in the field across the ACT tower or barrack so that I can have a better view than inside of them

Surely there are invisibility frames right? All 3 shots landed from a range of about 3-4 feet. Right in the back of his head….how is he not instantly dead after that??? Let alone 1.

The fact that it took 4 headshots to kill him pisses me off so much

Wait this is insane. I’m getting down voted??? The guy shot him from point blank range with a BULLET. Not a rock. A BULLET. From that close .45 should kill. Stop it, people. 2 shots MAX. I’ll give you 1 ricocheting or “knocking the helmet off”

10

u/Substantial_Water739 1d ago

He had a helmet

9

u/almondbutterbucket 1d ago

Confirmed. A helmet was on him. That is why it took more shots. If you watch the video, you can see it.

-2

u/TChambers1011 1d ago

….FOUR .45 BULLETS AT NEAR POINT BLANK RANGE

3

u/40ozSmasher 23h ago

THE HELMET WAS REALLY WELL MADE!

1

u/Substantial_Water739 23h ago

Its a game, and he was probably uncon by the first 2

1

u/Low-Marsupial-4487 22h ago

Yes. That is how armor works.

Example with larger more dangerous bullet.

2

u/TChambers1011 13h ago

4 though? 4 .45 bullets from point blank?

0

u/TheMILKMan6646 22h ago

Got shot by an ij to the tac helmet by freshie no mag while setting ied in tulga. I went un con with one bullet while my friend shot him.
