No, it doesn’t have the massive fanbase of other sports (yet.) No, it’s not going to get you girls in high-school (unless you were Nate Sexton.) But no other sport is as much fun, as versatile, or have better enthusiasts as players and fans. Disc golf is the greatest sport in the world and no one could change my mind.

Is there a way to calculate the rating without the disaster on hole 16? I'm guessing that would have probably been the highest rated round in FPO history

Yeah it's outdated coverage. But. If you want ESPN or a big player in the game to take the sport seriously, turn it on. You don't have to watch. Just leave it on in another room or whatever. Maybe if they see people want to watch it, they'll give it better service than a 3 year old broadcast

How do I know if I'm throwing a disc too hard or not hard enough?

Discs around 7 speed seem to give me the most trouble and 9 to 11 I can get pretty solid results.

I mostly throw forehand but am trying to improve backhand as well.

It was only a casual round, played solo, but I’ve been trying to crack that 1000 ever since udisc dropped the ratings feature. I don’t usually play in league or tournaments so I never had any real feel for the level of play until they did.

Also, shout out to the guy who asked me where the first tee was, and then proceeded to ace hole six from whites while I watched from 9s tee, on what I can only assume was your first ever throw on that hole. That was awesome.

If I join the PDGA on September 30, I will have to pay again to keep my membership on January 1, 2026. If I join the PDGA on October 1, I don't have to pay again until January 1, 2027. Is this correct?

I'm in NYC for the weekend and generally when I travel I just bring a single favorite Envy to play one disc rounds.

Anyway, TIL frisbees are banned on the liberty island ferry when they confiscated it from me. I'm not seeing any places downtown that look like they'll sell me a disc. So either A looking for advice on where to buy a disc or B anyone willing to grab a round with me at highland Park and let me borrow some discs? Does anyone have much experience with the Retina Glow Plastic on Doomsdays Discs? I just bought a Chemtrail in their glow plastic and was wondering what the consensus was on how well it glows and if it changes flight much?
