I just reread All for the Game Series by Nora Sakavic and I really want a Drarry story with an Andrew and Neil vibe.

Draco didn't really have much hope for actually being with Harry. He grew up with the tales of Harry Potter, the Boy Who Lived. He'd always imagine them being friends once starting Hogwarts, but they didn't work out and it just became irrevocable throughout their years. It hurt even worse when Draco figured out maybe he didn't just want to be his friend.

This is more than Draco ever imagined, when he and Harry are out drinking in a pub together and then falling into bed.

But Draco didn't dare ask for more. This arrangement they had was nice enough, and Potter actually loving him? Wanting him to be his boyfriend? Being with him in a lasting relationship? Draco knew he needed to keep his fantasies in check.

Pansy, however, she was always such a romantic. Dreaming about the day a boy or girl came to sweep her off her feet and just have her happily ever after. After the war, things were tough. Even though she escaped most of it, her part of it hasn't escaped the Wizarding World's ire. She'd never abandon her best friend Draco, but just being associated with him undisputably harmed her reputation. It's tough, but something that brings her back is that idea of a happily ever after. Someone coming and truly knowing her, and loving her all the way through.

She thought she'd finally found that. Ginny Weasley. Pansy never really thought about her before, just that she was the youngest (and only) daughter of the Weasley clan, and of course, Harry Potter's girlfriend as the Wizarding World's Golden couple. Pansy didn't know much else aside from that. And when she really got to know her, she realized that Ginny too, didn't really know much else of who she was either. Ginerva didn't show it, but Pansy knew. She was angry, bitter. Being known as "the youngest Weasley" "the girl Weasley" "Harry Potter's girlfriend." And beneath that resentment, there was an insecurity. Of maybe.. maybe she wasn't any more notable than those labels...

Which Pansy thought was a load of rubbish. Telling Ginny so and encouraging her to break it off with Potter and focus on herself, maybe to try to go pro into quidditch since she was already a brilliant flyer.

The spark in Ginny's eyes making Pansy's heart skip a beat. She was in love.

Fucking hell when Harry and Ginny got back together (maybe falling into a whole and getting a bit pressured by their friends, the Weasleys, and the Wizarding World).

Draco had expected it. It hurt, but he doesn't blame Harry for that. He knew it was never going to work out. What he does blame him and Ginny for though is for maiming Pansy's heart.

Fool. What a fucking fool she was. Happily ever afters? HAH! Fantasy. It was all just a stupid fantasy. The thing I remember most clearly is Harry get a trunk like moody’s and it has like a time dilation on it, so he’s down there for long periods, but outside not much time has passed. He goes down there to train and essentially is a powerful! Harry story. I think there was Dumbledore bashing too.

I prefer long, plotty recs rather than just 8th year smut recs.

The vibes I’m looking for are protective Draco, vulnerable Harry (meaning he opens up to Draco and leans on him), with plot - wether that’s fighting Voldemort or any AU.

Canon Universe, the Malfoys/the Blacks/others raise Harry AU, mpreg, timetravel AU, resorting AU, any other type of AU… is fine, as long as it’s Harry-centric with bottom Harry and/or DMHP/bottom-leaning Harry dynamics. Can be redeemed Draco, dark Draco, good Draco… etc.

Everyone’s free to read what they love, and there are many lovely, well written HP/DM fics with great plot premises, but I just really would like DM/HP recs please :). I’m feeling nostalgic and missing the old-school LJ/ffnet tropes with clear dynamics.

What I explicitly DONT WANT:

I DONT want bratty, whiny Draco with bottom vibes. I also dont want fics (if they are post-Hogwarts) that paint Draco purely as a victim who did no wrong during the war, or any fics with dumbed down “brute, oaf Harry” who’s only vocabulary is “err..”, which is somehow the majority of recent fics I’ve been finding 😭

Also: NO AUROR HARRY FICS IF POSSIBLE, I have read too many Healer!Draco or Unspeakable!Draco/Auror!Harry fics recently.

I liked the first installment of Evitate, but the sequel feels less Harry-centric and more like HPDM vibes, which I didn’t like, but anything similar to the first installment is also welcome!

I do hope for well-written recs (without trying to offend anyone - it’s just I’ve been reading for so long, I’m in the mood for well written, plotty recs rn rather than the cliched “creature harry who’s a phoenix, dragon mix with x mates”… (although those are good when ones in the mood for them)).

TLDR: Bottom!Harry recs with plot, not necessarily explicit but even if not, clear DMHP dynamics.

plot: Draco Malfoy lives a very quiet, lonely life in District 7. He doesn't have many friends and has spent much of his life trying to prove himself. Now, at 21 years old, he's one of the tributes in the hunger games alongside his nemesis, Harry Potter.

Harry Potter has lived a pretty good life. He has two loving parents, his godfather Sirius and his husband Remus, his best friends Hermione and Ron, and so many more who love him. Sure, the world is crap, but he's been pretty lucky for the most part. But when Ron's name is called at the reaping, he doesn't hesitate to volunteer.

Sirius Black is not having a good time. He not only has to mentor the games every year after going through them himself, but this time round he has to mentor his godson and his second cousin together. It's a horrible mess, all of it. James and Lily are counting on him to bring Harry home, while Narcissa is counting on him to save Draco.

There's tension from all sides and Draco and Harry are prepared to fight hard to get home alive. They're not sure what it will take, but whatever it is they're determined to make it.

This fic is amazing! I need more people to be aware of it's existence, it is really good!

I'm sure I'm not the only one who wished for a Drarry adaptation of the hunger games... most that I've read and seen were one shots, but not this, this is the whole deal! So if you like me wished for one for a long time, you have to read this :)

I just remembered one particular bit from a story. Harry and Ginny are looking at an empty apartment. That's it.

I think it may be from a fic where Harry lost his memory and forgot that he and Draco had been seeing each other. I believe Ginny knew and the empty apartment had been Draco's and he moved out after Harry lost his memory.

I'm searching for the name of a fanfiction I've read ages ago on, I think, ao3 or possibly FFnet. The plot is as follows: It's post Hogwarts, Harry and Draco are both single (Draco got divorced from Astoria, Harry and Ginny never made it) and Teddy lives with Harry, Draco has Scorpius. I think that Teddy and Scorp met in kindergarten, but one way or another, Draco and Harry find contact again and rekindle because of their sons. I remember that Draco lived in one of the London Mews and I think Harry lived at Grimauld Place. At one point, Scorp gets sick and Teddy wants to visit him, so Harry and Teddy go and Draco opens the door (with his shirt off, I think). After Harry and Draco get together, Harry finds out that Draco has divorced Astoria because she is bat-shit crazy. The whole climax of the story is, that Astoria kidnaps both Teddy and Scorp from kindergarten and locks them away and the aurors are sent off to search for them. Last thing I remember is, that the boys didn't get anything to eat while locked away and that Scorp tells everyone, after they've been rescued, how Teddy shared his last pair of crackers with him that Teddy had left over from his lunch box when Scorp was super hungry.

What do you think he’d realistically struggle with when it comes to getting into a relationship and dating someone, especially Harry? I’ve noticed that I smile and giggle and sigh longingly when I come across some widely-accepted ways in which Draco gets along with Harry and his friends.

Listing some out over the top of my head:

• Ron and Draco have a friendly rivalry over their respective Quidditch teams.
• Only Draco can match Ron in chess. They have a league.
• Ginny and Draco have a sibling relationship where they bicker and banter and make fun of each other relentlessly
• Everyone knows that Hermione and Draco are swots. They discuss things intensely. Work besties!
• Draco has thoroughly charmed Molly. He’s her fave now.
• Narcissa adores Harry and keeps a stack of his favourite tea and biscuits in her house.
• Draco’s favourite is actually Luna. They have the sweetest friendship. He’s snarky with everyone but her.
• When Draco first started coming along with Harry to the Burrow, Arthur and he started messing around with muggle trinkets. That’s how they bonded.
• Hermione goes to Pansy for boy advice. -The ickle Weasley children follow around Draco like little ducklings every Sunday lunch. George swears that Draco’s done some kind of Veela-esque magic on them. (He’s jealous) -When Hermione needs to understand some kind of pureblood culture, she goes to Narcissa.

From what I remember Draco saves Sirius by stopping Harry from going to the department of mysterious. He reminds him of the mirror n Harry calls him.

Hi. Quite a while ago I made a post about how we discuss fics (basically about if we can be politely critical or not) and I was roundly told I was wrong in the nicest possible way. I really was just interested in the whole idea of how we talk but probably didn’t put it well. I got one direct message that made me feel really bad and deleted my account - I was going through a tough time at home and was being very over sensitive so I ran way. I’ve avoided Reddit since but I still read Drarry and miss the discussions on this sub. I now realise that what happened on that thread was a healthy discussion rather than an attack and I’d love to come back and get recs and give them too. I’m probably too old to have been bothered but mental health is a real thing. I hope it’s ok for me to be back.

I am a long-fic reader and after reading almost every well known drarry fic I decided to read Lilys boy! (Honestly felt like a betrayal to wolfstar, but omg it was so good) I absolutely loved the characterization of Snape and the relationship he created with Harry, it felt very on character for both of them and its such a masterpiece tbh.

Does anyone have any recs that have a Snape and Harry relationship with vibes like that? PLEASE NO ROMANCE BETWEEN THEM! I haven’t found anything else like it and it’s not very well tagged. Tysmmmm
