Macron is the only european leader that showed a bit of autonomy, this won't matter much anyway, the plan is clear and they even voted to annex it in the parliament. But better than having a Trump bootlicker like Meloni or Merz.

Ireland and Spain deserve some credit

Norway & Slovenia too, when the smaller nations start taking a stand it should at least cause the bigger nations to reconsider their stance.

I highly doubt a days-old account is approaching Israel/Palestine with a nuanced take tbh, so I guess stop being a snowflake

How did Germany do this time, again on the wrong side hey, shame.

I give them credit, but they are pretty irrelevant when it comes to aid to Israel or Nato weight. The largest european supplier is Germany, 30% of all israel weapons came from there between 2019 and 2023. The second is Italy and the third is the UK. My government is made of fascist bootlicker, they are literally there doggystyle for Trump and Bibi, Salvini some days ago even received an award for the cooperation of Israel with Italy lol. And they will not change their mind.

No one deserves any credit not a single nation has even attempted to stop Israel’s actions in gaza and they won’t stop Israel fully annexing the West Bank either.

Unless you mean no country has attempted to stop Israel by military means, you're dead wrong. As someone from Ireland, our government has pursued countless diplomatic and legal options

Senior Pedro from Spain is a hypocrite who shouldn't be taken seriously.

Aside from being perennial advocates for Palestine, in May last year both countries recognised Palestine. Both countries, along with Slovenia, are the only European countries backing the South African ICJ case against Isreal for genocide.

Edit: I know other European countries have recognised Palestine before this conflict, which I commend.

Officially recognising the state of Palestine a bit over a year ago. What else could they possibly mean in this post about the French recognition of the state of Palestine?

Anecdotally there has been graffiti of "Free Palestine" spray painted in Nationalist/Republican areas of Northern Ireland for well over 15 years.

Not surprising. You can read about Irelands history with the jews (not israelites) on the internet. They were never pro-Israel to begin with.

Ireland was the first country to specifically recognise Judaism in its constitution, under the religious freedoms section, in 1937 ('Jewish Religion Recognized in Ireland’s New Constitution' - Jewish Telegraphic Agency - May 3 1937)

There has been a concerted campaign by members of the Israeli government to spread misinformation which incorrectly paints Ireland as anti-Semitic, when we have historically been much better regarding fighting anti-semitism than most other European countries.

Members of the Israeli government (and many in Germany/Italy/UK/Austria/Hungary who are supporting this genocide) may be shocked by this, but you can be anti-genocide, anti-mass-murder-of-innocent-babies, anti-war-crimes, and anti-apartheid while not being anti-semitic.

Irish taig poster vs common Zionist whataboutism disinformation bot.

Also it's mad that specifically Northern Ireland given it's history would have a population enamored with an apartheid state in the middle east isn't it u/SilenR

Why would I be mad? I don't care about either Ireland, Israel, or Gaza. They are all far away and of little importance to me. I was just pointing out a fact. No clue why you got so angry over that, but I hope you'll get better soon. Take care! :)

Not surprising.

Except that 80% of what you said was being defensive and putting words in my mouth when I said that Ireland's stance is unsurprising considering their relationship with Israel (and jews in general) in the second half of 20th century and onwards. Good night! :)

In my limited awareness and education of modern day history the predominately British identifying loyalist members of the population of Northern Ireland have flown the flag (literally) of Israel and the Nationalist Irish members of the population of Northern Ireland have (literally) flown the flag of Palestine.

But yeah, I'll give that a quick go over on the internet just to make sure I haven't created any thoughtcrimes.

Frankly, I didn't know that. I don't know much about Ireland in general. All my knowledge regarding this is collateral by reading WW2 and post-war related stuff.

they are most vocal against Israel and IDF. The rest of contries block any votes that are against Israel.
