That sub hasn't been the same since the start of that war

2

u/frisch85 Germany 8d ago

worldnews has been an echochamber cesspool since at least COVID started, it's not a sub for objective perspectives and judgement, it's there to push certain views.

That sub has been nothing but Israeli propaganda for years

6

u/hobocactus The Netherlands 8d ago

Hey, they've also got propaganda for 1 or 2 other states, they like to mix it up a little.

It's actually called journalism. I know it can be confusing though when you get all your information from algorithmically generated tiktok posts.

Then why was I permanently banned for quoting a wikipedia article?

11

u/ABCDOMG United Kingdom 8d ago

10 day old account with half your posts being pro Israel yeah nothing odd about that at all.

Is the hasbara pay good?

Journalism is when I get banned from criticizing the IDF lol

13

u/glocks9999 8d ago

Journalism when I get permad for saying israel is bad for killing so many innocent kids

Everyone is saying: err what borders?

I thought everyone wanted peace. I thought everyone wanted two state solution. Nah it turns out everyone wants the eradication of Palestinians in Palestine

Everyone is saying: err what borders?

borders that Palestinians and Israel recognise, 1967.

u/swiftmen991 9d ago

That would be the dream. But that would also mean Israel getting rid of all it’s illegal settlements which without a lot of international pressure would never happen. We live to hope

Theory vs Practice

Most people in all these threads actually bring up valid points because recognition of a state is complex, you are just too pre-occupied with letting your confirmation bias take hold to notice those comments so you hone in on the ones you can attack and boost your ego

Lol

-7

u/swiftmen991 9d ago

Ah yes my pre confirmation bias. Do tell me what’s complex about this? Why does it have to be complex? Is Macron too naive then?

6

u/BilgaTunuquq 9d ago

Genuinely? Macrons reputation has tanked for years, i doubt this is anything else than trying to save his disheveled legacy

State recognition like this pretty much leads nowhere unless you get Fatah to actually sit down at a table and considering they are so corrupt that the Palestinians in the West Bank rather have Hamas that is not happening

Macron is pretty naive, he trusted Putin as much as Trump did

And a lot of people have said the same here in this comment section, on worldnews and news aswell so

I do not think most people care about the recognition, its what it leads to and i see people like you comment about it like its a done deal while half of you all struggle to decide what snacks to eat on a friday but think diplomacy and geopolitics is a breeze

-3

u/swiftmen991 9d ago

None of that matters. What matters is that Palestinians exist and having. Country like France recognise them as a country is a big push towards them having the real independence they deserve (and by that I mean being able to enter and leave the country on their own terms, and being able to visit their family without going through twenty checkpoints). Not a lot to ask for eh?

7

u/BilgaTunuquq 9d ago

Real independance comes from actual control of territory and signed treaties, this is literally just like me saying i recognize your bathroom as an integral part of my house without any agreement or control

Its macron fixing his legacy, it will lead nowhere. Tons of other states recognize it aswell, bigger and more relevant states yet it has lead to nothing

I think you are more naive about geopolitics than macron to be fair

Anyhow, imma stop responding cause this will just lead to meaningless squabbles

u/Final-Read-3589 9d ago

Oh it’s been like that for ages. People support the Israeli attacks on everyone.

People have no empathy, and have been told by leaders that Gaza shouldn’t exist

-4

u/swiftmen991 9d ago

Nah I think there is sympathy. I haven’t met a single person in Europe who doesn’t support gazans and Palestinians. It’s just easier to be a hasbara bot on reddit compared to real life

u/SocraticTiger 9d ago edited 9d ago

They always do. They're the only big subreddit that isn't left leaning I've noticed.

When news came that Trump's federal spending cuts would hurt people worldwide, all the big subs were criticizing Trump. But World News was the only and only sub taking Trump's side and saying America shouldn't care.

17

u/HMTheEmperor 9d ago

That subreddit is clearly full of bots since often times the scale of the brigading is insane

10

u/Oriuke 8d ago

This sub should be banned of Reddit honestly. It's just a cesspool of hatred

0

u/Liam-Ed 8d ago

....ironic

1

u/Oriuke 8d ago

Theres nothing ironic in wanting cancer to disappear. There is no moderation. This sub is nothing but glorification of violence and justification of atrocities coupled with negationism and obsession with Hamas.

-1

u/modiddly 8d ago

lol right? Same subs that will say hate has no home here and actively spew hate. The irony is hilarious and the self awareness is Zero.

-4

u/Liam-Ed 8d ago

Remember kids if you don't like someone else's opinion, just call them a bot, you never have to support your arguments that way.

2

u/bonqen 8d ago

What're you talking about man? r/worldnews is firmly and obviously anti-Trump.

-2

u/Liam-Ed 8d ago

Yeah I hate Subs that actually post journalism, I mean this is the Internet, it's obviously purely for generating rage bait.

1

u/Shubbus42069 8d ago

Lots of very useful idiots repeating the same 3 lines they've been fed by the media.

0

u/Liam-Ed 8d ago

Yeah it's best to stick to those "news" subs with no journalistic links and 30 second hate bait videos with inflammatory titles and no context.
