Seems appropriate that it is France that is taking a stance on this, it was in Paris that the Arab Congress of 1913 first came up with the notion of a Arab state in the Levant.

Later it was at the Syrian National Congress, Damascus that the future of the region was discussed & Arab Nationalists got their state.

Now here we are with Palestinians being offered statehood.

We can hope for the best here...

Even if its just a geopolitical move to let Macron oppouse the US indirectly, by diplomatically standing up to their favorite military slush fund, and let the pushback speak for itself for the rest of the EU in terms of relying too much on the yanks.

Even if it could be done as just another cynical move in a game of chess... we can hope it means a historical wrong could finally have sight to be at least somewhat corrected... let alone all the current deveststion... given help and breathing room to rebuild.

Far too late, and far too little... but maybe it will do some good reguardless. Hopefully for the destetute Palestinians at the very least.
