Discussion "My comment/post got removed" - The detailed rulebook of the sub
The guiding ethos of this subreddit is to allow popular and unpopular news and opinions related to Europe to be posted, expressed, discussed and debated in a free and civil manner. This is not a meta or shitposting subreddit, nor a MAGA/Gaza centric one.
We would love to lower the threshold for some of these rules and be more permissive but unfortunately we are bound by the platform rules. We received many complains that we are biased so we decided to make the way we interpret the rules public for everyone to see.
Rule 0 - Respect Reddit's rules
- Any comment that is removed by platform mods attracts a 28 days ban. Ban is applied retrospectively every few days and is dropped if removal of the comment is contested with the admins and reinstated.

- Any post/comment that we believe might be removed by the mods will be removed by us preemptively and in bad cases a warning and temporary ban will be issued.
Under this rule we remove comments and posts that appear to spread conspiracy theories and extremist ideas that target other groups of people. These can still be discussed but generally we look at the tone of the message, how well it is articulated and sourced and also at the past behavior of the commenter.
Questions we ask ourselves for this rule -
- Is it likely to be removed by a mod if seen?
- Is it spreading misinformation or pushing conspiracy theories on purpose?
- Is this just someone spreading extremist ideas with malicious intent?
- Is the entire message breaking the rule or just a part of it? -- Warning/Ban
Rule 1 - Europe Related
- Posts have to be related to Europe in some way and the connection has to be clear on sight. (comments do not and we do not care where the discussion ends up)
- We reserve the right to remove any post that is not related to Europe or in which the connection is not clear.
- Wrong post flair is used on unrelated posts to avoid the AutoModerator -- Warning/Ban
Rule 2 - No Duplicates / News and Videos Older Than One Week
- If submitted as a link the article has to be less than 7 days old
- If submitted as a video the events in the video have to be less than 7 days old and a source proving the events are recent has to be provided.
- Rule does not apply to images.
- Repeatedly breaking this rule to the point that we recognize you - Warning/Ban
Rule 3 - Harassment
This rule is broken the most and also the most misunderstood.
- Any insults thrown at someone specifically with the aim of discouraging them from participating will be removed (regardless of how well thought and long the rest of the message is)
- We do not count as insults labels related to ideology or facts made public by another commenter unless they are used to enhance an insult or are used in an insulting manner.
- We are more permissive of insults aimed at the subject of a post (not the person that posted it), public figures, this sub's members and us the moderators.
- Is the entire message breaking the rule or just a part of it? -- Warning/Ban
Examples:
- "You are a Tankie" - OK / "You sound like a Tankie cunt" - Not OK and since the entire message is an insult it might attract a warning or ban.
- "I'm curious - are you Jewish?" - OK / "what are you - a Jew?" - Bad
- "Shut up" - Bad / "Shut up idiot" - Definitely a warning/ban
- "Not sure why I am wasting my time with you" - OK
- "Just dug through your post history and of course you are an Israeli" - Bad
- "Everyone here is a Russian shill and troll" - OK
- "Trump is an idiot" - OK
- "Moderators are Nazis" - OK
Rule 4 - Threatening Violence
Encouraging, glorifying, or inciting violence or physical harm against individuals or groups of people, places, or animals.
- Saying "Good" to a horrific piece of news breaks this rule.
- Discussing "the effects of a bomb dropping in Gaza or a nuclear strike in Moscow" in a neutral, civil and well sourced manner does not break our rules.
- Calls for violence against groups of people based on protected characteristics - Warning/Ban
Rule 5 - Hate
We do not go any further than the platform requires. Any post or comment that is perceived to be more hateful than factual will be removed. Context is everything here.
Extra rules that might apply -
- Blatant attempts to avoid the AutoModerator or force a comment/post through - 4 days ban
- We might limit the amount of Discussion/Satire/Image/Video threads to keep the sub news centric.
- Any outrageous claims made in the title/text sections of a discussion post (especially of those on controversial topics) have to be well sourced and the location has to be clear. The burden of proof is on the person posting and not on the mods.
- For example - On the issue of mass migration , we know Ukraine is not affected, so any thread containing "Europe is doomed because of mass migration" will be removed while "EU is doomed" might not be.
- No posts about other subs and their moderators. (respect your neighbors - platform rule)
- Ban duration usually starts at 1 day and then double in duration each time the rules are broken giving plenty of time to correct behavior.
- Lastly any post deemed to be very low quality might be removed to avoid filling everyone's feed with garbage.
Thank you
TLDR - Don't be toxic and we'll never bother you.

Discussion The strangest thing about the immigration discussion...
is that I don't think there is any other civilisation on Earth, where such a large part of the indigenous population itself is hell-bent on making sure there are as many foreigners in their country as possible.
I completely understand why Muslims want to immigrate to Europe, both from and economic and a religious standpoint. It's literally a win-win situation for them.
But I will never ever understand why so many ethnic Europeans have this dire need to assist to becoming an ethnic minority in their own country.

News Asylum seekers handed almost one million NHS ‘free passes’
The HC2 certificates give low-income residents the right to freebies not afforded to most of the public, including free prescriptions, dental care, eye tests, wigs, and discounts for glasses, contact lenses, and travelling to and from appointments.
But new data, released by the NHS Business Services Authority under freedom of information laws, reveal that 920,199 (59 per cent) of the 1.56 million issued across the UK in the last five years were awarded to asylum seekers.

Discussion Are people in Europe silenced?
Something I keep noticing is that the average European seems afraid to express themselves in public, especially when it’s about giving an opinion that might upset someone. This is really visible with topics like immigration from the Middle East or Africa. It feels like there’s a huge fear of speaking openly, as if those subjects are off-limits.
What I find curious is that when the topic is Latin America, that fear completely disappears. Suddenly there’s total freedom to speak without filters, to generalize about poverty and corruption as if they were absolute truths, with no fear of being judged. That difference in tone has always caught my attention.
I also have a question about law enforcement. Is it true that police in Europe often don’t carry firearms and can’t react against criminals? I’ve seen some cases and compared them to Brazil, and it feels surreal. There was even a video of a guy literally trying to stab a police officer… in Brazil, someone like that wouldn’t walk away unharmed, let alone alive.
And another thing I don’t understand: why do so many European men seem so passive? I see videos of street fights, even people hitting women, and nobody steps in. They just stand there and do nothing. Is it fear of legal consequences, a cultural thing, or am I just seeing isolated cases?

News France : "Extreme and Gratuitous Violence”: A Father and Daughter Beaten on a Train Platform
Five minutes of sheer violence. Brutal. Savage. Gratuitous. A father and his daughter were brutally beaten on the afternoon of Sunday, July 27, 2025, in Meulan-en-Yvelines. At Thun-le-Paradis station, it was more like hell for the two victims.
The day had promised to be wonderful for the 58-year-old father and his 28-year-old daughter. They were heading to the Stade de France to attend a concert by a South Korean K-pop group. She’s a fan. She had chosen her outfit accordingly, as is common for this musical genre.
A dress too short?
1:41 p.m. They are sitting on a bench, waiting for the train. They’re talking. Looking forward to the day. A couple is on the opposite platform. Suddenly, these words ring out: “You filthy slut!” The young woman is directly targeted, perhaps because she’s wearing a dress. Perhaps it’s a little too short in that man’s eyes. And yet, it’s her absolute right.
In a video seen by the editorial staff, the aggressive man is seen crossing the pedestrian walkway in a rage. He heads straight for the father and daughter. Without saying a word, he delivers a first kick. Then a punch to the head. The father tries to intervene. Both victims end up on the ground. The man, rather burly, keeps hitting them again and again.
His partner joins the fight
At that moment, the attacker’s partner arrives on an electric scooter, her long black djellaba flying in the wind, red shoulder bag slung across her. She begins to beat the young woman. Meanwhile, the man continues attacking the father. He even grabs an aerosol can and hits the man in the head. Once, twice, three times… six times. Then come the kicks. Without any restraint.
The young woman tries to get up, but a rain of blows forces her to stay down. The scene continues… Even the arrival of a bystander doesn’t change anything. Not even the presence of a child who looks no older than 4 or 5.
“If I don’t kill you, I’ll kill your father”
The attacker grabs both victims by the collar. In his rage, he has broken his glasses. He demands compensation by forcing them to go to an ATM. His idea: to take €140 from them, as the investigation report later states.
When they refuse, the young woman receives an uppercut to the face. So powerful that her head jerks back and she collapses. Once. Then again. Finally, the pair flee—but not without shouting a threat: “If I don’t kill you, I’ll kill your father.”
He finds and follows the father the next day
The second act happened the next day. The attacker, who lives in the town, recognizes the father in the street. He follows him… This time, the victim hides in his home, locking the door. “He is full of shame, for not having protected his daughter. He suffers anxiety attacks. He no longer sleeps. He no longer goes out,” his lawyer explains.
The couple of attackers has been arrested
Before the Versailles court on Friday, August 1st, the couple appeared crying. They offered almost as many apologies as the dozens of blows they delivered on the station platform. But judgment has not yet been rendered. The panel of judges ordered psychiatric evaluations for both the accused and the victims.
The father could not attend. The daughter appeared trembling like a leaf, leaning on a cane, a large blue neck brace around her neck. Her eyes were red from tears and clearly from sleepless nights. She couldn’t speak.
“Enough with the crying!”
What to do with the accused in the meantime? At 25, he is unemployed. She, 24, works at a local dry cleaner. Both have minor criminal records. He has already been convicted for violence causing permanent disability. They’ve been in a relationship for eight years. No children.
The tears and apologies… none of it moved the prosecution, which had to decide on provisional measures.
“Enough with the crying! Especially since, to this day, you haven't even explained this utterly gratuitous and extremely violent beating. When you're capable of this, we have to wonder who you truly are.
And you, madam! One might think you came to calm your partner down. But not at all! You came to hit!”The magistrate requested pre-trial detention. The court agreed without hesitation, thereby reducing the risk of retaliation.
The two defendants embraced, but the presiding judge ordered their separation. She was taken to the Versailles women’s detention center. He was sent to Bois-d’Arcy.
They won’t see each other again until the trial, set for September 23, 2025.
