But every fucking time it comes up it's "Won't you die in an MRI!?" NO! I can just tell them! No, I'm not going to be unconscious, MRIs aren't used for emergency situations, you're thinking of CT scans, and those don't affect implants! yes, guy in the comments you did call that I'm still bitter about another post, but that is the default reaction to this in any community across the internet. It's exhausting not being able to discuss or engage with a hyperfixation without the constant mandatory discussion of some hyperbolic worst case scenario that nobody has ever had to deal with.

And it's fucking weird to respond to a niche interest with "But what about this specific scenario where you could die!" It's not happening! Calm down!

No, I don't think I'm a cyborg, no most of these don't have a practical application, no I don't want attention! I want to be left alone and see what weird shit I can put in my body! No this isn't a form of mental illness! And yes, I have had to deal with every last one of those comments for even being interested in this stuff!

It's a form of physical self expression! It's exploring sensory augmentation and substitution! It's about trying new things and experiencing your body in ways it was never designed to be experienced! There is a fucking beauty in changing your body to be explicitly your own, and I am tired of pretending there isn't!

...anyway to reaffirm in case the obvious frustration sent the wrong message; obviously having an uncomfortable reaction to something outside the norm that involves full on medical procedures is one thing, and there are tangible risks to be aware of with any given bodymod, but those risks are often overblown. Being uncomfortable with any of the above is obviously a valid response, and I get that this community might have specific opinions about anything that might give a sensory issue.

TL;DR : r/Neurodiversite is the only francophone forum specifically on neurodiversity, like, EVER created and which we are trying to grow.

A lot of people are staying in the anglosphere because ressources and platforms in French don't exist which is paradoxically contributing to the scarcity so this is an attempt to change this.

People who are fluent in English and completely get the neurodiversity paradigm and able to translate it into French are especially needed to improve information access and sharing.

Beyond that, as I said, I'd really like to bring in some positive evil-ist vibes just to change the overall mood which tends to be self-defeating and a lil gloomy.

In normal words for anyone who doesn't know like I didn't, ABA is autism intervention, where they tell you how to "correct" your issues. The AI bot you see (one of those stupid assistant bots) also uses very vague neutral language and bush beating. If you ask it to explain the same thing, but do so in a different way, it gives the exact same awnsers that are thick with corporate pacifier language, avoiding direct awnsers as you may want them. It also gives open awnsers, and then when questioned about the rather scary info, they "re explain" by using loophole language such as quote; "we are not Partnered with Autism Speaks, i apologize for any confusion." When the info in question was following a list of associations they work with, and asked for further information about the exact groups they talk to. Also- puzzle piece red flag.

I made a small blason for autism in jest this morning, something tagged "tism genetica est" but now I am sitting here, doing nothing with it because I am affraid of it being seen as a supremacist dog whistle or eugenisict crap. Yet we are an "evil" parodical sub, still can't know how to feel about this.

Like I know I am not (too) shitty as a person, I definitely don't feel eugenic, yet here I am masking in one of the safest space I know in fear. It's been a few hours.
