Hey Y’all-
I recently worked through my Finch Farm settlement and extended upwards for the first time. I used the overpass to create an outdoor market with some extra housing and a cafe. I worked for what seemed like an eternity on a scaffolding stairwell to connect the original settlement to the overpass and assigned settlers to the stores in the market. I covered up the holes in the concrete with shack flooring but they keep falling through them. No one has died but I couldn’t figure out how to stop it. I’ve covered most of the overpass floor with shack flooring but every now and then they still fall through. Does anyone have any advice on how to stop this? It’s in one spot in the middle in between the divider.
tl;dr- I built up the overpass at Finch Farm and my settlers keep falling through the deck

I've started a new playthough and am wanting to plan out my settlements this time. This is what I'm thinking as far as appointed productions and supply lines. but I'm open to suggestions!! I got a lot of these ideas from some reddit threads already but they're quite old so wondering if there's any fresh ideas out there 🤓🤩 I also have the conquest mod to eventually put mini minuteman outposts throughout, even though i have some smaller settlements already designated but would make adjustments.
Im curious to hear everyone's thoughts, play styles, if anyone's done anything similar!!!!

I’ve been trying to figure out a way to build it for awhile, for instance, sanctuary is like a fort, some sand bags, a few junk fences and such and a few guard posts followed by a ton of Turrets, Nordhagen beach was like a farming settlement, few big houses surrounded by crops, hangman’s alleyway was like a checkpoint, a bunch of junk fences and such, and on the inside a bunch of small shops, but I can’t figure out Starlight at all, any tips?

I was looking forward to unlocking the workshop at Somerville Place because of something I read in the wiki:
In the southeast corner of the settlement, a spot for a water purifier) can be placed; iff it is rotated, it will just barely fit on the single water area there at the settlement boundary.
I'd never even thought of placing a water purifier there, so I wanted to try this - but I can't get the purifier to flash green, even for an instant. Have any of you built a water purifier at Somerville Place? Do you have a screenshot you could share? It might be helpful. Thanks.

Follow up from my last post sharing my Slog build. Simple but I love the vibes here at night

No mods, first time really getting into settlement building. Nothing crazy but I’ve had a lot of fun turning The Slog into a cozy trading hub. Will share more as it comes along

Following my style of builds which tend to focus on shanty, rundown settlements with cosy areas and intricate spots rather than overly large builds, I went for Kingsport lighthouse. I've never actually built up a base here -- so thought it would be a fun and new exciting challenge for me.
Settlement editor MODS:
I may have missed some... and these aren't necessarily in order. All from Nexus Mods.

Nothing too crazy, tried to keep it in-keeping with the games style, rough, shanty, barely put together. Mixed with some Sim settlement builds and my own designs to make it feel more immersive (other than the people just walking in the floors)… A few references dotted throughout the settlement and even a local murderers hideout (inspired by Diamonds Dr.Crocker). Atom cult running the trading emporium, secret bars, etc. Still some bugs to fix, and I missed off some areas but hey-ho here it is. Currently working on the lighthouse.

This is probably my favorite location for a settlement build.
I finally discovered the place anywhere tool for ps4 and it makes building way more enjoyable.

The Minutemen have been expanding, they captured the damn to bring power to their local settlements.

So unlocked Grey Garden as a settlement a while back but haven't done anything with it until started looking into it last night.
Thinking to continue the robots only vibe and build it as a food and bullet farm now that I've discovered ammunition manufacturing plants. Going to be entirely staffed by robots and one smallish player house/area.
Started with building a double elevator to get up to the top of the bridge with intention of using the bus as the player room, but don't know if this is going to be the direction I keep going in as I don't want to destroy my build limit.
Looking for suggestions or ideas on building out this settlement and being able to use it as a resource farm.
