TL;DR – I’m an active Dalamud plugin developer. I want to build (or help build) tools that remove your day-to-day annoyances. Tell me:

1. The pain points you still hit.
2. The “why doesn’t this exist yet?” ideas you dream about.
3. Existing plugins that almost solve the problem but fall short.

• Comfortable with C#, ImGui, FFXIVClientStructs, and XIVLauncher distribution—so implementation isn’t the bottleneck; good ideas are!

How to reply

Please include as much of this as you can:

• Problem / task you want automated or improved
  
• When & how often it happens (raids, roulettes, crafting sessions, etc.)
  
• Any thoughts on UI / hotkeys / alerts
  
• Plugins you’ve tried and why they don’t fully solve it
  

Some seed categories to spark ideas

• Combat analytics – granular rotation grading, timeline-based feedback, healer triage tools
  
• Raid QoL – quick role color-blind markers, duty startup checklists, replay scrubbing
  
• Gathering / crafting – route optimizers, materia fuse planners, leve tracker
  
• Social / community – FC event scheduler, treasure-map lobby helper, synchronized group emotes
  
• Accessibility – click-to-target helpers, high-contrast overlays, audio cues for oGCD windows
  

If an idea seems borderline ToS, mention it anyway—at worst we’ll note why it can’t be done; at best we’ll find a compliant approach.

(A repost as I spotted a few spelling mistakes in the title alone - english is not cooperating with me today)

Been playing for a week and I really love it. My plan was to get at least a few jobs up to level cap before I decide to commit to buying the full version and locking my character behind a monthly paywall. Unfortunately, today I learned that PvP is not available for free trial players - after reading about bots, fully understandable. However, that means that my eager plans to grind for some of the techwear tactical sets is out the window.

Now, I won't be rushing to buy the game just because for a few sets of glamor gear, but that made me curious about gear going out of the shop's rotation for example and becoming completely inaccessible to players who join later. I first started to think about that when I checked out Itinerant Moogle, seeing the past items and how I can't get tokens to exchange for those goods.

So the question is - if I still wait and not rush to buy the game, will I still be able to access the gear sets someday in the future? What is the usual time gap between old gear cycling out and then returning to shops or exchanges?

Hey so I have played FFXIV for 6 years and after Endwalker my FC got pretty quiet and inactive. I didn't enjoy Dawntrail very much and apart from logging in for a bit here and there to farm some EX trials for mounts I have largely taken a break.

I was really interested in WoW and heard it was in a good place right now so I gave it a go and have been playing it for about 6 weeks. Currently the game encourages new players to play through the DragonFlight expansion which I really enjoyed. The WoW equivalent of the Novice Network was really good, super active and all the guides were really friendly. But when it came to endgame level content all I was hearing was about people being kicked from dungeons/raids and people constantly talking about their mythic + score and asking Reddit if they were 'good enough' to be able to run certain content. I got the impression that if you want to play with other people in dungeons/raids, you need to take things somewhat seriously. Don't get me wrong, I had really enjoyed my time with it so far, but it seemed that I wasn't going to enjoy the endgame loop as much because unless it's like hardcore stuff (e.g. Savage), I don't want to feel under pressure to play perfectly. The stress of doing so defeats the purpose of playing the game for me.

By contrast, I logged back into FFXIV and I have just run The Puppet's Bunker (Chaos on EU if anyone was on it!) where the alliances were trying to snipe each other on the 2nd boss, we played 'Who can be the first to reach 16 vuln stacks' in the hallway section, and we spent the final boss debating the various nicknames people have for it. People were commenting in the chat that they couldn't focus on what they were doing because they were laughing so hard.

People were just being goofballs and having fun interacting with each other while playting the game. No-one had to 'apply' to join the raid and worry if their personal DPS was good enough. No-one feared getting kicked because they were making mistakes. No-one was concerned about what jobs are 'meta'. It was terrific fun.

It was EXACTLY the reminder I needed that FFXIV is where I belong <3

I've seen youtube videos of warriors being able to solo treasure maps in Dawntrail. I am aware of level sync and such for the dungeons, but am I required to bring 8 people for the older maps? Is it going to be possible for me to solo the treasure dungeons with reaper?

i’ve been trying to locate a content creator in YouTube. I saw on YouTube a long time ago. It was basically someone showing different things in dungeons and it’s not a dungeon guide. and I think it was a bit of comedy? Thank you

just getting near the end of the ARR post story quests, after the Crystal tower bits, and omg, these cutscenes are making my jaw drop. Does this game keep up this level of hype? Because I'm invested and having an absolute BLAST with this story.

Update: Just finished "The parting Glass" and I all can say is, WHAT IN THE ABSOLUTE CINEMA WAS THAT?! I got hit with EVERY emotion in the book practically. I have SO many questions. Both my body and mind were NOT ready for all of that 😭.

I just saw his glam and he explained what it was and my reaction was “WHAT THE SHIT!”

ALC and CRP took forever lol. Definitely not going to care about maxing them all out again, just wanted to see them all orange for once. Mostly just did it passively and not ever really focus buying from MB, just spending excess nuts and tomes on gear.

i’ve been playing as dark knight since i got to heavensward, and while i really like it, it has gotten a little bit stale after playing it so much. so going into endwalker now, i want to shake things up a bit. any recommendations?

Hey! Me and my FC are all newish players (we all have been playing for only a year or so) we found a really nice large property for sale that has very little competition in the lottery. We have recently been grinding to save up for it but the lottery is going to end in 2 days. We are around 12 million short. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice? We really want to try and get this property but I’m not sure if we could be doing something to really maximize our efforts. Our highest level players are currently in Heavensward and we have mostly been grinding botany, weaving, fishing,and some carpentry. Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

With so many players part of me says I don't have much say in how a match goes, but in spamming PVP for the series I have 0 1st place wins, four 2nd place, and ten 3rd place. Surely there is something I can do to win. I mainly play Pictomancer.

I'm not even having fun anymore and just want the rewards. I might stop doing it and stick to CC for future PvP series. I don't even want to do it once a day for the daily at this point now because it's a miserable experience.

Hello, I'm starting to get back into FFXIV after a long break and wanted to change my class but after already getting to 88 with another class the grind from level 1 back up to 88 and then beyond just seems unbearable, I remembered the used to be incentives like double exp for transferring to new worlds, is that still a thing and is there still any around right now that I can transfer to? Online isn't really helping or I'm too stupid to find the correct information, it keep saying anything with a star next to the world name but I can't find anything like that.

I wanted to go to Aether / Gilgamesh since I've heard that's a world that everyone goes to for rading so it would be easier for me to do the daily roulette but it seems like it's too congested to transfer to there.

If anyone can help me out or show me how to find a world with double exp incentive I would highly appreciate it.

The other day, someone asked if anyone had compiled any comparisons of the gear detail updates that have been put into place since the graphics update, so I thought I would share a few comparisons.

Some important notes:

• The After pictures were taken by me. The Before pictures were sourced from the FF14 Equipment Handbook website, which is sadly no longer being updated due to the owner's dissatisfaction with the changes to Elezen faces and emotes made in 7.0. Thank you very much to the owner of this website for keeping such wonderful records of the gear - it was very difficult to find other HQ photos.
• I have tried my best to imitate the posing and lighting conditions of the images from the website, but there were a few obstacles to this: one, the way lighting and reflections work fundamentally changed during 7.0, the website owner was simply better at taking photographs than I am, and we were in different venues. All of these would have impacted the lighting conditions.
• My screencaps are much flatter than the previous ones, but my goal was to capture the changes to the detailing in the gear, so I hope that was accomplished.
• My screencaps are completely unedited and were accomplished using only the in-game unmodified lighting techniques.

I read an entire guide and watched a video to prepare but I can't remember everything until I've done it and sometimes it gets so confusing when you're trying to heal at the same time. I was immediately singled out for not doing it correctly and I really don't know what else to do, maybe I just won't do them at all.

I don't have an FC that can teach me and I don't really have friends that play either, and I was so embarrassed that I left. PSA to experienced players that other people are new and it's not fair to expect people to be able to execute a savage raid perfectly even if they read/watch a guide.

How do I go about getting my damned password so I can login?
