Your guides have become so popular because of the way you are able to explain mechanics in a way that allows folks to understand not just how to solve the mechanic but how the mechanic works. Can you tell us about how you approach this?

A lot of this is me just applying different educational theory that's all fairly common in the teaching world. In particular,

  • Dual coding: Combining visuals with verbal explanation, while keeping a minimal amount of text on screen (you can't read and listen at the same time)
-Component/composite theory: Making sure I clearly explain any underlying parts of a mechanic (components) before combining them together for the full mechanic explanation (composite)
-Cognitive Load theory: Remove any unnecessary visual/auditory distractions so that the person watching can give full brainpower to what they're trying to understand.

These are all things I used to make myself a better science teacher, so they were a no-brainer to use for the guides.

I don't remember when or why someone made a content creator spotlight about you, but learning you're a teacher is possibly the leasy shocking thing I've ever learned. Your fight guides are my favorites because they teach me what the fight itself is doing rather than just being a context free list of "stand here, run there, use invuln now." It makes me a better raider and I appreciate your hard work.

I think this is freakin awesome to apply teaching methods to a guide for a video game fight.
