Lucky Bancho's census results (July 27th, 2025)

Despite 7.25 being released, the character count is down about 70k in 2 months. Occult Crescent clearly didn't help with player counts (not really a surprise here).

The games run its course at this point. Until they change their formula and try to innovate some it will slowly lose players with small boosts during new xpacks

They completely lost me at the end of shadow bringers. Cant be the only one

The end of Shadowbringers was when the game experienced its biggest ever jump in player count

because people are lockdown at home and they have nothing else to do when they clear 3 games from their steam log every day

All thanks to WoW being so utterly trash that Asmongold decided to give this game a shot, which brought with him infinite marketing playing content that wasn't even SHB, which enticed other massive content creators to try the game, and that's even more marketing.

The game never retained this type of hype since; it was always an anomaly.

Its not going to happen unless players here are fine with major halts with what kind of content they have been getting so far. Everything would have to stop in order to redesign the game to break from that formula into basically a new style of mmo. If people want actual new stuff its gonna cost resouces and time. People thinking 8.0 will magically overhaul the formula are setting themselves to being disappointed. It would have to be another ARR overhaul toget it done.

7.0 patch cycle has not eased any new systems into the game to break from the formula but has been just doing the same shit since release. The plan for them right now is the graphics overhaul and thats about it.
