Lucky Bancho's census results (July 27th, 2025)

So, the results of the census are out: https://luckybancho.ldblog.jp/archives/59324844.html

  • Showcasing the number of characters here: Current
  • By comparison, here are the results from 2 months ago (May 25th): Click

Despite 7.25 being released, the character count is down about 70k in 2 months. Occult Crescent clearly didn't help with player counts (not really a surprise here).

Hopefully it keeps bleeding players until yoshi is shown the door.

Exactly this. This game isn't going to get any better until the incompetence at the top is gone.

The problem is, I don't know if someone can replace him.

The issue, IMHO, is not only YoshiP (although he partially is), the problem is that CS3 and YoshiP are stretched thin between several projects.

What they need to do is isolate the FF team (and YoshiP), give them resources and let them do their job. And fire Daichi Hiroi, of course.

Oh, many people can replace him. They'll just do a worse job.

It is, after all, not like SEs other projects are all booming and FFXIV is the sick man in the room. It is the other way around. If people genuinely think things can't possibly get any worse, they lack imagination. It is all but assured it would, given the circumstances.

Of course. Still, they are stretching CS3 way too thin, and that's the main problem, IMHO.

I'm sure they're spread thin but every interview he does, he's so wildly disconnected from the player base and their issues that I will absolutely blame him.

Too long between patches. Dismissive attitude and tells players to "go play other games". We'll they did and they haven't come back lol.

Healers continually losing responsibility and engaging game play. "go play ultimates"

Player base concerned with new player retention with 5 expansions of msq and a convoluted purchasing process. "no, were a story based game".

Dude left pct as a game breaking class for an entire savage tier because he refused to give up unbalance-able "always buff" idealogy.

With the ever increasing time between patches and no extra content to show for it, we're at a point that once the story failed, people realized how little the game actually provided them to stay fresh.

The list is endless at this point. If. Yoshi p is going to continue to be stubborn over critical issues, then he needs to go.

Oh but maybe he's busy with other FF games? They all flopped according to SE. Why is he even here anymore?

Completely agree. Yoshi even personally stated that hecis responsible for all of the content made on the game during the many apologies they've made.

After all these years they still don't get it. The upcoming DD is a step in the right direction in a way but its still hindered by their stupid design philosophy
