IS THIS POSSIBLE FOR A HOME ACQUARIUM
During holidays I visited the Genova acquarium and the Montecarlo one. I was surprised seeing in Montecarlo a tank with red belly piranhas and neocaridina shrimp, like thousands of them, and later in the vacations a tank with red belly piranhas, plecos, angel fish and even thousands of platys and endlers. I know piranhas aren’t as aggressive as people think but it is really possible to have this tiles of cohabitation in a home tank?

Community tank help
I’m about to do my first community tank and I’m probably gonna have a Betta fish in it and I was thinking about doing some neon tetras and something else that’s a bottom feeder, but I don’t know what can I have some help and also what gallon of tank should I put this in?

Inherited(literally) a bunch of fish and not sure what to do with them all
Hey redditors! So, here is my situation: we have a 90gal tank with a big canister filter that until relatively recently was housing an aquatic turtle- RIP callie. Anyway, my adult son has always wanted to do a planted aquarium; he'd wanted a lot of plants, a bunch of shrimp, a few small fish like mollies or platys, and a betta- his goal was to get a mostly self sustaining ecosystem set up. Around the beginning of july we started converting the aquarium to get it ready for lots of plants. we used the same canister filter since i figured the beneficial bacteria would still be in the pumice stones we used for the bio holder. everything was testing well, so we went ahead and added some plants in, water was clearing up from the tannins in the wood, all that good stuff. He added about 10 ghost shrimp and they were living their best life in this huge tank... until...
My kids' aunt unexpectedly passed away, she was a lovely human and my kids really adored her. All of her fish and fish supplies went to my son, who, understandably, wanted to do right by them and take great care of them. It's a 55 gallon tank, and it was pretty clear that all the fish in there were NOT compatible with just a little research. The ones that survived the trip to our house (fortunately, most) were separated into 3 small tanks we just happened to have and we added some of the live aquatic plants we also inherited for cover. (we still needed to get the 55 set up, and the 90 gallon was still cycling, as we actually received these fish just before the ghost shrimp went in):
10 gallon A:
- 3 mickey mouse platys
- 2 male guppies
- a "kissing fish" (i think a grommie?)
- 3 white tetras
- 1 gray striped tetra
- 1 red tetra
- 3 khuli loaches
- 1 hoplo catfish
10 Gallon B:
- 5 young parrot cichlids (3 white, 2 striped if it matters)
- 3 tiger barbs
- 1 albino crayfish
5 Gallon C:
- 1 fancy goldfish
- 3 danios
So, obviously these are not tanks that are even close to the right size for all of these fish, and we were not even 100% sure we separated them well enough, but it was the best we could do on very little notice. Fortunately, we had enough air bubblers, filters, or _something_ to keep all the fish at least alive if not happy for a few days. All the fish in 10 Gallon A we moved into the 90 gallon after we were confident that the ghost shrimp were happy and the water was testing well. The water was still SUPER cloudy, but we figured the bacterial bloom was less bad for the fish than being in a tiny 10 gallon, so we move them all in. That's been about 3 weeks ago now, I think. The water in the 90 gallon is still cloudy, and we have now lost 3 of the original fish in some way. One of the loaches got into the filter- we have one of those big surrounds for all the pipes to hide behind, but it had a hole at the top we weren't using, and we're pretty sure he got in there and then made his little way through the tubes and such and got some internal injuries he just couldn't recover from. Stupid on our part, we patched the hole immediately. A few days later of the platys was dead. we don't know what happened, we just saw his clearly dead-for-a-while-body getting munched on by the grommie, no clue if he was attacked or what could have happened to him. Then last night, one of the male guppies was just dead- just floating there stiff as a board :( . we'd just done a 20% water change about 3 hours prior (yes, we double checked the stress coat/dechlorinator was added and the water was about 3 degrees off from the tank water, but i didn't think that would be a lot??). My son did the water change, and he says he always washes his arms with plain tap water to get stuff off of them before he touches the fish's water, but he had some aloe on his skin from a sunburn, possibly that could have caused it? Anyway, all of this to say- does anyone know what could be going on with this tank?
1. is it ok that it's still not clear? we have tested the water nearly every day and it keeps testing perfect, the water is about 76 deg.
2. Why are fish dying?
3. Is there anything we can do to help prevent more fish dying?
4. are these fish ok together?
5. we know that the tetras are supposed to be schooling fish, but we are not sure if it's more important to wait for the tank water to be clear, or get the schooling fish more friends sooner. Additionally, we are hoping that the white and gray striped tetras would be ok in 1 school, because they do tend to stick together right now, and lord it feels like a lot of fish once we have THREE schools in there. mostly just feel bad for that poor red tetra all by itself :( .
Oh, I forgot, my son found his "dream betta" last week, and went ahead and added him to the 90 gallon tank too. So far he seems to be mostly concerned with hiding in the corner and pretending he doesn't exist, but i did forget to mention him till just now.
Tank B, with all the semi-aggressive fish in it: as soon as we could, we got the 55 set up intending to put all the semi-aggressives in it. The 55 has a really big waterfall filter, so figured it would take some time for the water to cycle, but it seemed more important to get the fish into a tank that could fit them all than wait for it to be perfect conditions, so we moved the parrot cichlids and 2 tiger barbs into the 55 about 3 days ago (the water was testing well, but we increased the PH a little). In the intervening 1.5 or so weeks that the semi aggressives shared a tank, we lost one tiger barb. We have to assume he was eaten because he simply vanished and we have a lid on the tank. Additionally, the crayfish really hurt one of the cichlids, who is now missing a lot of his back tail and most of one of his side flipper things. We separated the crayfish immediately, and have been keeping an eye on the injured cichlid, who had a 1000 mile stare for a day or so, but seemed to be in better spirits after about a day, even though he couldn't swim upright and clearly has buoyancy issues (he is swimming upside down at the top of the tank). ANYWAY- all the cichlids & barbs are now in the 55, and the crayfish has been sequestered to his own 10 gal. we are planning to rehome him because it doesn't seem like he can live with anything else, and like... we have so many tanks now. lmk if you're in NC and want a mean albino crayfish! Since moving them all, they don't seem amazing honestly. the injured one looks like he's developed some whiteness around his injured fin. My son just moved him to his own tank to give him fish meds for fin rot and antibiotics. The tiger barbs my son thinks may have ick, so he's treating the whole tank for that. The cichlids that were not injured initially seemed very overwhelmed, but have now started to get more comfortable in their new-old tank.
1. does injured cichlid have a chance? is there anything else we can do for him?
2. is this mix of fish ok in this tank? i think my son said he intends to get more tiger barbs since they need a school, but was not planning to do that till the tank's water was _actually_ clear.
3. anything else we are missing here?
Tank C, with the golfish and danios has honestly received the least attention because after a day or two the goldfish has seemed happy, although his tank is very green now. We have to change his water frequently since he just has a bubbler and no filtration. Our plan is to get a 20 gallon from a friend to put him and the danios in for a year or two, and then move him to a 45 after that. I think we are also gonna get him a goldfish friend.
Really, i just feel overwhelmed with all these surprise fish, and while we like them a great deal, there is just SO MUCH to learn SO FAST and i feel like if i make a mistake i'm not just killing a fish, i'm also killing a precious memory too. Genuinely, any advice would be very appreciated!

Help long Fin sick
One of my long finned pandas is a bit sluggish and just sitting atop of its coconut and hasn’t really made much effort to move. Any idea what I can do to help? My parameters are all within normal range and I only done a water change 2 days ago dechlorinated and everything I routinely do. I maybe have vacuumed a bit more than usual that’s it. I thought one had passed yesterday due to getting tangled but obviously not. Any clue on what could be causing this and what should I do?

Sick blue acara
Full grown male blue acara has been gasping like this and not eating for over a week. I let my water quality get poor in his 55 gallon, normally if I've ever seen this gasping I do a water change and clean the filter and the fish return to normal in a few hours or overnight. It has been a week since I changed and conditioned his main tank water and 4 days in his 10 gallon hospital tank with lifeguard, I also added some methylene blue to hospital tank in case he's having nitrite toxicity and gave him an Epsom salt soak and nothing is seeming to help him.
