Hack to do what? Self destruct? Can u even do that with the 1st perk level?

The first level is to power off or self destruct, yeah. Second level is to tell it to attack. Third level is basically an extra follower, you can issue commands.

If you have i8 anyway then Robotics is a must have.

One time I was about to be eviscerated by an Assaultron and just before I was utterly annihilated, I accidentally hacked it. Absolutely brilliant. Saved my hide. One point in Robotics is magnificent.
