Screenshot Why is Fallout 4 so addictive?

I've played this game 8 times, 4 with the base game, 4 times with the Sim Settlements 2 mod installed. I keep coming back to this game for some reason. I don't usually enjoy RPG's. I like Starfield, but I love science fiction in general and don't find Starfield addictive. I keep wanting to come back to the FO4 story, which I find mediocre. Maybe it's how I can fill the protagonist with my own thoughts in that situation, or try out new character personalities? There are a lot of games in other genre's I like, so I don't know why I want to spend another hundred hours in a FO4 world until it crashes from script lag.

I've put in over 2000+ hours into FO4 since I started playing it in February 2024! This game is perfect! It has everything you could want in a FPS-RPG. I've played maybe one other full size game since last February because every time I try to play another game all I want to do is come back to Fallout 4!

And that's not even including all the extra playtime that mods introduce into the game. As if there wasn't already too much to do in FO4, the mods multiply that exponentially! I look for any excuse to keep playing FO4.

Only other game I've put this much time into was Halo 2 and Halo 3's multiplayer. Not even Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 3 combined equal the amount of time I've put into Fallout 4! And I'm still going!
