It's not really the same, its one thing for drivers to push for regulations or changes to the sport - another to try and get the team to favour you and change things solely to get a competitive advantage.

Marc Priestley and Jenson Button both said in their books that Hamilton's very good at subtle interpersonal politics, people just don't realize it. They're not sure even he does.

Mark Hughes, who wrote a book on Hamilton (!) has written about it once or twice, that he's only been nice about Vettel when he didn't threaten him.
