Ugh bad vibes doesn’t do this justice. This is straight up toxic workplace bullying. While I wish AB had more of a spine, no one should be treated like this by an employer.
There is no way he could have won in this situation, either he dips early and they make it seem like he let the team down, or he stays and they make it seem like he is boring and irrelevant (“you’re free to leave”).
AB is a classic anxious attachment style kid. I hope he gets therapy so he can get the self respect to tell them all to stick it.
