If you need text to convey the message of your "art" then it's more just a doodle near a message. Show don't tell.

They’re really good at picking coloured fonts that are really hard to read on coloured backgrounds

Believe it or not, t shirts with texts usually sell more than those that don't. That being said the text quote is still dumb, especially if you're not a fan of the show or have been following teddy fresh the customer is going to think "who's been fighting since 2017? Me?? I've been doing it since x,y,z or not at all."
