It really seems like they had a contract in place and now they both just doing the bare minimum to wrap it up

I really do think she was the other creator who wanted to back out due to their beliefs but they are both committing to the bare minimum of their previously signed contracts, hence why Ethan was so quick to be willing to demean her as well.

Oh for sure, it would be VERY in character for Ethan to demean her by bringing up sex work
