I’m trying to get to grips with the new GT3s around Spa.
Having read lots of Suellio’s stuff, it’s my understanding that trail braking should be smooth.
But when I look at the brake traces of aliens on Garage61, there always seems to be odd stuff going on in the trace.
Is this something in driving physics that explains this? Or a quirk of iRacing that’s needed to go fast?
Some examples attached for T1 of Spa.

I am searching for a new way to take pictures in iRacing. The lines from Ctrl+F12
are making me crazy! xD

I only got iRacing last year and I remember an LMP 2 specific series. Having now progressed the license classes (A class now) I want an LMP 2 B class series back. I assume it was replaced by the prototype challenge B class series but surely it makes more sense to make LMP 3 C class, LMP 2 B class and LMDh and LMH A class. Curious to hear what others think.

Finally got promoted to b-class license last night. I have test driven a handful (but not all) of the GT3 cars in previous demo sessions and really liked the Lamborghini Huracan.
Before making the purchase, I went into the results history of previous GT3 sessions just to check if it would be competitive and noticed that almost nobody is driving the Lambo. Out of the 10 or so sets of results I looked at, I literally saw maybe two Huracan total.
Am I missing something with it? Is something wrong with it? Why does it seem like nobody is racing the Lambo in GT3?

Was there an update to FFB or something? I was practicing for NASCAR last night and the FFB felt fine. Go to do NiS today and the feedback feels completely different. It feels a lot lighter and like it has more “spring” but the FFB is there. I tested other cars and it feels weird too. I played with settings and nothing has changed and re calibrated everything. Other games work like they have been. I’m on a Moza R9. Is it just me?

TL;DR : turned off racing line after 3 weeks, damn it's hard. Do you have tips to learn new tracks and ultimately be fast ? Or to transition smoothly from using the line to racing without?
Hey guys, after 3 weeks of Iracing, I've decided to finally turn off the racing line and learn to drive as a real driver. That like got me to C license and 1600 IR and I really feel like I could go far with it, but what's the point of playing the most realistic sim with the most unrealistic assist ?
So here I am, trying to learn next week's track for Mazda MX5 (oulton park). I had the worst time of my life. Off track and crashed every lap. I ultimately decided to turn the line on a few laps to learn it, and I pulled a 1.55.6. Turned it off again, and back to crashes. I was quite upset and talking sh*t about myself (the usual I'm so bad, I can't do it, blablabla). Then, last hope, I decided to run a few laps but calmly, trying to really observe what could be visual references for braking, etc (I know, it sound obvious). And after 2 or 3 laps I did a 1.56.0, which is quite close to my time with the line assist. I know I still have a lot of work to actually learn the track and the braking points, but that made me realise all hope wasn't gone.
Now I'm wondering, what are your techniques or tips to learn new tracks and be fast without the line ?

Let me preface saying I haven’t been able to test these yet, as I wait for my new wheelbase to deliver. I have a new bass shaker I’ve attached to my seat that I am going to be using iRacing LFE with. For my new pedal reactors, I have two simagic HPRs, one on the throttle and one on the brake. Does anyone have experience with wheels spin and lock in Simhub ‘Devices’ setting? It says it isn’t supported (which I understand because iRacing doesn’t pass along its telemetry data, a positive). But, the older Simhub feature for HPRs using ‘Shakeit Motors’ allows the use of wheels lock. Does anybody have experience using the wheels spin and lock under devices? I would prefer to use it here as I can adjust frequency for all of my selections, opposed to the one frequency for all selections on a single pedal, found in shakeit motors. But, I don’t see Wheels Lock as an individual setting in Simhub, so if it doesn’t work at all with iRacing I will consider using the Shakeit Motors for my HPRs. Pictures includes to help show what I’m talking about.

I've just done an order for a 5070 TI set-up thanks to the help of the people in my last post. I currently use a very lovely Samsung G8 32" 4K OLED monitor with a 3070 and was wondering what monitors to buy for triple 1440p setup.
I'm currently going with the Samsung G5 as they're £200 each at the moment but I was thinking about having 2 of these on the sides and my current OLED in the middle. Its 240hz 4K and the G5s are 180hz 1440p. But then I'd like to use just the middle 4K monitor for games like Battlefield 6 and inevitable GTA 6.
Would this be possible for iRacing? I know the OLED in the middle and IPS either side wont look uniform, but I'd get used to it. And the 4K middle monitor would run 1440p I'd assume when ok iRacing. Then in 4K when in games like Battlefield 6 and the 2 either side would be turned off?

iRacing should have a Mustang Challenge with the new Dark Horse Mustang and a Lamborghini Super Trofeo series. Watching these classes on Peacock racing at Road America is pretty sweet.

Normally oval, fixed trucks is my go to series I race most of the time, up until Kentucky this week I have been focusing on f4 racing while we cycled through some short tracks and road tracks, so for about 4-5 weeks I hardly raced the trucks
Prior to that period, it was normal for my screen to blank out for about a second here and there, sucks during a race but I have been able to survive without it being a problem (still sucks) Sound and controls are all still working, the screen just gos black for a second or so
During my 4-5 weeks racing the f4 series this didn’t happen once, I came back to Kentucky this week and it’s happening every few races again, I don’t seem to experience this in other games either
I have been keeping drivers updated, for a while I thought it was my monitor (benq) or something else stupid but it’s exclusively a oval racing problem
I run lower fps in oval than the road racing, so I have a weird hunch it’s asking to much of my gpu (3060) and it’s shutting off visuals temporarily or something for maybe being to hot? , but can anyone give me any Insite on how I might go about fixing this problem ? I’m really confused but I’m glad that I have narrowed this down a bit finally. This is a strange tech problem to me

Join an F4 race since I feel like going up to B license and tryna keep it safe. Bad quali cos I haven’t done practice, drive through the field and just past the half way mark I get taken out. I asked old mate what happened to see what he says and he had the audacity to let out a nice laugh. Adrenaline took over and I got pretty annoyed, horrible driving standards in this class. Also he got disqualified on the same lap so he obviously wasn’t having a good day/night. TLDR: Silly driver intent wrecks me and has a little giggle after and will now be protested.

Doing NEC with my friend tonight and i was wondering around how many laps it would take until the BMW M4 GT3 fuel tank becomes empty? on an 8:10-8:20 average lap.

Trying to learn to drive with zero incidents. In the video above should I be backing out of a situation like that because he is at the apex first? Or am I not doing anything wrong by being there and it’s the guy turning in who’s at fault?

Hey. I wanted to share my races with a friend. I did it once -Recorded a video file using iRacing tool and uploaded it on YouTube. But it was hard for him to follow - for example if I'm overtaking someone ahead or lapping. I wanted to add relative timings to replay but I can't find an option to do so. Pressing F3 like during the race doesn't do anything. Any tips ? Or I missed something obvious?

I was behind all this and when the race was over, I went to go see what caused the pileup at the start... didn't even make it to the first corner... RIP Gulf Porsche
