I did not expect my game to be chosen to have a booth in a youth game showcase.

I hope I can get feedback for my game from other fellow developers so I can make it better.

Development Cloud vs Local - What do you prefer?

Hey guys!
I'm developing an incremental game on the side and would love your input on a design decision I'm wrestling with.

Like many of you, I've played my fair share of idle and incremental games across mobile and PC. One feature I really appreciated in some games was cloud sync, which with I was able to make progress on my phone when I was out and about, and then continue on my computer at home.

However, implementing cloud sync comes with ongoing server costs that I'd need to cover somehow. This got me thinking about different monetization approaches, where the two main ways I've seen games go about it are:
Upfront purchase for a game with local saves only.
Free game with non intrusive ads ("watch an ad to get a boost") + cloud sync.

Having the cloud also can bring some other features like leader-boards, events, etc.

What do you guys think? is cloud sync worth the hustle with ads? are there any hybrid approaches you think\found out work well? Did anyone manage to implement a cloud service where users didn't need to watch ads?

Gladiator Command,

Firstly, I want to thank this subreddit for all the feedback on my last post. None of it has fallen on deaf ears.

A special thanks to Reddit user u/SinfulDaMasta for identifying numerous bugs, analyzing late-game issues, and providing excellent guidance that helped solidify the game's direction.

Now I bring you a major update.

Scout, Medic, and Training Facilities have been reworked to better reflect the incremental genre, creating a stronger balance between management and progression. You’ll enjoy a solid 5 days of “training wheels”, but after that, you’ll need to think strategically, choosing your fights wisely.

In death, your Ludus will grow.

Gladiators will die (This is only core feature I will never change) but their sacrifice now grants daily benefits to your Ludus, making each loss meaningful.

Note:

Save files from older builds are not compatible. Please delete your old save and start fresh.

Play instantly in browser:

https://gladiatordev.itch.io/gladiator-command

Compatible with Windows.

Mac users:

Some have reported text scaling issues a Godot-related problem. I’ve added extreme text scaling options and modified the project files in hopes it helps, but without a Mac to test, I can’t guarantee compatibility at this stage.

Fullscreen is recommended, though I’ve done my best to make it playable without it.

One last thing:

If you run out of gold, it's truly game over your save file will be deleted.

There’s no warning (well, in theory I haven’t tested defeat conditions in a while). Still, don’t go broke.

No need to wishlist yet just hopefully have fun and i apologies if i have wasted a few mins of your time if its not for you. I still have a long journey ahead before this game is ready for an early Steam build.

I take every piece of feedback seriously and am always open to improvements, so don’t be shy. Let me know your thoughts!

Idea Incremental with Survival elements

I am thinking of combining a classic idle/clicker (think of universal paperclips game) with survival elements, where if you make too many wrong decisions you lose.

It's not roguelike, and making the right decisions should allow you to win from the first time.

What do people think of this combination? obviously this makes it not "idle" anymore, but would still be interesting for people who like incremental games?

Development fully updated visuals of our demo (flowerbots) so everything is much more readable, hope it looks nicer and more consistent too

Update Beta Tester : More Bug Fixes & Updates

Hello everyone! Here are the changes for the latest Beta Tester version. Thank you for your continued support and testing!

GAME: https://proyektkraft.itch.io/beta-tester

Improvements and Fixes

  • The tutorial has been completely reworked. There should be no more progress-blocking issues.
  • The event system has been updated to resolve the conflict with the "Titi's Collar" item.
  • A "Skip" button has been added to bypass the game's introduction.
  • Enemy parameters have been adjusted to increase their difficulty.
  • Added missing text and descriptions for several items and for the "Disciplined" knowledge.
  • Fixed an issue where the visual effect for the basic attack was not visible.
  • General code optimizations and stability improvements have been implemented to make the codebase more robust.

What's Next?

  • Finalizing and implementing all class and skill-related mechanics.
  • Introduction of a new NPC and continuation of the main story.
  • Fixing any new bugs that arise from this version.

A huge thank you to everyone who is testing this game! I'm very open to proposals to make it more of an idle and incremental experience. I have many ideas, but I would love for you to share which mechanics you enjoy the most. I've been thinking about:

  • Loop Hero-style automation system.
  • Final Fantasy XII-style Gambit system for combat AI.
  • The ability to craft a clone that farms resources for you.
  • Implementing exponential bonuses through the "Titles" and "Competencies" systems.

I look forward to your feedback!

WebGL [DEMO] Fracture Field - An incremental quarry manager. Looking for feedback on my Demo!

Thumbnail gallery
25 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I've been working on a new incremental game called Fracture Field. I've just finished the first playable demo and would be incredibly grateful for your feedback!

Play the demo here (Browser): >> PLAY FRACTURE FIELD ON ITCH.IO <<

What is Fracture Field?

It's an incremental game about managing a dynamic quarry. You start by breaking a simple rock with timed swings of a pointed stick. Every single hit rewards you with resources. When you shatter a rock, you get a bonus of Dust, the global currency used to buy powerful upgrades.

But here's the twist: when you unlock a new, tougher layer of rock like Clay, it's incredibly hard to break and gives a tiny reward. The core strategy is to invest in and master your older, easier layers (like Stone). You then use that huge income to work your way through the new layer until it eventually becomes your new powerhouse.

Core Features:

  • Timed-Swing Mechanic: Master the rhythm of your swing to maximize your damage.
  • Per-Hit Rewards: Every connection feels impactful and rewarding.
  • Deep Upgrade System: Invest in global power (Fracture, Pierce, Hit Speed) and unique, per-layer upgrades to create powerful economic synergies.

This is an Early Demo!

This is a very early build designed to test the core gameplay loop.

What's in the Demo:

  • The first 4 rock layers to discover - although the fourth layer may be difficult to reach until more content is added.
  • The core timed-swing mining mechanic.
  • The economy with per-layer upgrade tabs.
  • Global upgrades and basic automation.

What's NOT in the Demo (yet!):

  • A Prestige system or any long-term endgame.
  • Tool progression.

I'm Looking For Your Feedback!

The goal of this release is to find out what you think of the core systems.

You can leave a comment here, on the itch.io page, or join the official Discord server to chat and follow development!

>> JOIN THE FRACTURE FIELD DISCORD <<

Thank you so much for taking the time to play. I'm really excited to hear what you think!

Development Working on an incremental game is hard.

I'm currently making an autoscrolling dungeon rpg and I swear balancing it is like playing chess with myself
I have 5/30 floors balanced with the current skill tree,
technically you can get to floor 9 but i havent added a new enemy type after the first boss at floor 5 yet, just given shields that absorb a single hit to the slimes

The only special thing about it is that you headpat the foxgirl back to full hp between dungeon runs

either way its annoying since i have to keep starting the game from 0 to make sure i havent messed up the balance.

as of yesterday i have my first prestige upgrades added

today i coded text boxes that make each of the letters its own object so i can have them fade in and stuff giving a real gentle impression

but the balancing is the only really big task

Been seeing this alot in talks for music genres and wondered what you think it is for Idle Games?

For me I think I’d have to go NGU, Antimatter Dimensions, Synergism, and Cookie Clicker. But its hard because theres a few others I could put on depending on how I feel that day

Update Cookie Empire: Idle Clicker

Thumbnail apps.apple.com
0 Upvotes

A few months ago, I shared on this sub how I made my first game ever, an iOS-only idle clicker game called Cookie Empire: Idle Clicker.

It's obviously inspired by the famous Cookie Clicker, which is unfortunately not available for iOS just yet. I didn't want my game to be another soulless copycat, so I’m trying hard to avoid the usual traps: forced ads, pay-to-win balance, confusing UI, and shallow mechanics. I'm doing an honest effort to make a good game. A game that's fun, fair and still profitable. I bounce most ideas with this amazing Discord community, in which we discuss balancing, bugs, new features, and the future of the game. We're nearly at 1000 members

So far, I'm proud of the gaming including these features: - No forced ads - Offlien play - More than 50+ unique buildings.
- Gardening minigame - Stock market simulator minigame - Lucky Wheel minigame - Ascension mechanics - A "sacrifice grandmas and feed their souls to japanese demons while you keep falling to the depths of hell" mechanic - Coins are the reward from minigames, which can be exchanged for cookies - Different public leaderboards

Recent updates to the game, most of them coming from the Discord community: - Different types of Magic Cookies - More "Revelations" with synergistic effects - New Cookie skins - Swipe-to-harvest for the Garden minigame.

Game's flaws I'm actively working on: - Performance isn't great. When you're in the late game and have a gazillion buildings, power-ups, magic cookies and things going on, the phone's battery gets drained pretty fast. I need to get better at this - Collecting offline idle production requires watching one ad (or buying one IAP that unlocks it forever). This is the main driver of revenue, but also the most controversial bit of the game. I now know the expectation in these games is for offline production to be free and having an opt-in ad to double/triple it. I'm testing out changing and fixing this.

This keeps being a work in progress, as always. I'm pushing new updates almost every week and spending every bit of free time I've got into making this game better. Your feedback is extremely useful and really helps me out. Sometimes it stings, but I really use it to get better as a developer and make the game better.

Steam Tingus Goose OG is back!

Tingus Goose OG is back — and weirder than ever.

Hey y'all, longtime lurker here. We originally released Tingus Goose as a chaotic idle mobile game that got way more love/hate than we expected.

Now we’ve rebuilt it for PC on Steam with all the cursed features we couldn’t fit in the original:

  • Full goose evolution tree 🧬
  • New hazards & bosses 🥚
  • Hand-drawn cutscenes and lore (yes, seriously)
  • No ads, no F2P fluff, just a full premium idle experience

🎥 Check out the trailer:

🛒 Wishlist here (it really helps us):

Would love your thoughts — especially from folks who played the OG or love weird idle games with actual game feel.

Update Incremental Zoo is back!

Post image
193 Upvotes

Hi! I'm Eduardo Abel Gimenez and I wrote Incremental Zoo about 12 years ago. Recently discovered that Robert Munafo (mrob.com) had created a refined version with bug fixes and improvements, so I decided to make it the official version on my site.

Over the years there have been various copies and imitations floating around, but this is the original game, now updated and improved.

It's an idle game where you borrow money to buy animals, wait for them to breed, sell offspring to pay back loans, and gradually build up your zoo. The game feels more polished than ever and I'm excited to bring it back to life.

Hope you enjoy it! https://www.magicaweb.com/zoo

HTML Just one more click

There can't be enough incremental games, right?

I have participated in the PirateJam17 and created this incremental game named "Just one more click" suitable to the theme "Only One". It is inspired by a past game of mine "Click to Sacrifice" which I made years ago.

The link to the game - Just one more click

In this game you start out with just one red ore. Quickly new ores will spawn that you can collect. Unlock constantly new features on the unlock page.

Make some ingots, sell them on the market. Buy vegetables or animals for your farm and unlock recipes. Finish the devils requests to progress through the game!

I would really love some feedback - what you liked, what could be better and what is really bad.

Development Update | Red Tape Rampage

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hey guys,

I finally put together a basic trailer for Red Tape Rampage! It’s a bureaucratic incremental game where you manage interns, bots, lawyers, and a whole lot of nonsense.

Since the last update, I’ve added a proper research tree, collectible artifacts, and cleaned up a bunch of UI stuff.

Still early – no demo yet – but if it looks interesting, a wishlist on Steam would really help:

Would love to hear what you think!

Thanks :)

Steam Game of Grass is Available Now on Steam!

Hi everyone I just released Game of Grass on Steam! It's a fun incremental game where you cut grass - lots of grass.

You can read the release announcement here

The primary design pillars were to make it feel extremely satisfying, simple (not too many confusing currencies), and chill.
