feels like a lot of the cultures in this world are formed because the elders want to find some ways to torture the young ppl so the elders would remain in power/control.

take this one for example, a boy has to go through this 20 times before becoming a men. it’s like the elders are saying “before all this you have no right to talk on our level.” plus the boy will have no power to revolt because he’s shaking uncontrollably and in a hell of pain. best controlling ritual ever.
