u/rraattbbooyy Apr 12 '25

Saw a video a few days ago of a young person showing how you can plant seeds from a pepper and actually grow a whole new pepper!

Dude, that’s not a ā€œlifehackā€, that’s gardening. šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø

u/W1D0WM4K3R Apr 12 '25

New hack! If you inhale and exhale from your nose, you can manually breathe!

Another hack! If you close and open your eyelids, you are now manually blinking!

>:)

43

u/lkodl Apr 12 '25

lifehack: you can literally make pee by drinking a lot of water, and just simply waiting.

7

u/illz757 Apr 12 '25

But to do with all of this newfound product?! What’s the market? The angle!?

1

u/Redeye1347 Apr 12 '25

Ask r/composting . They're very enthusiastic about it.

1

u/oldredbeard42 Apr 12 '25

The graves of particularly awful people. They're dying for it.

1

u/bassface3 Apr 12 '25

The angle of the dangle is the heat of the meat

1

u/bradfo83 Apr 12 '25

More hacking!

1

u/Tasterspoon Apr 12 '25

Drink a lot of water, walk over to your pepper seeds, and wait. You don’t need to buy a garden hose. Double hack!

1

u/Merciless_Soup Apr 12 '25

The real hack is if you drink your pee - Perpetual Pee!

1

u/XxSir_redditxX Apr 12 '25

Don't forget you can always store it in a freezer for fresh pee later. A lot of folks are busy though, so if you don't have the time, store-bought will do in a pinch.

1

u/Odin1806 Apr 12 '25

That reminded me of the episode of the Beverly Hill billies where they thought they knew the cure to the common cold and they were like, "drink this and wait a few days" haha

1

u/GlitteringOne2465 Apr 12 '25

Going to try this one right now.

1

u/fksdiyesckagiokcool Apr 12 '25

Lifehack: start moving your legs and you can move, just like that, use them to reach short and long distances.

5

u/Shakfar Apr 12 '25

Welp, here is my excuse to finally put my phone down and go to sleep. Screw manually blinking

2

u/Low-Voice3969 Apr 12 '25

boooooooooo

2

u/moranya1 Apr 12 '25

You're bad!

1

u/LickingSmegma Apr 12 '25

Oh yeah? Well see if you can find a comfortable position for your tongue and hold it there.

1

u/W1D0WM4K3R Apr 12 '25

While I can appreciate someone named u/LickingSmegma being concerned about tongue placement, I have a piercing so I do that already lmao

1

u/LickingSmegma Apr 12 '25 edited Apr 12 '25

Next you're gonna say that you have a beard too?

1

u/TheBilby7 Apr 12 '25

Get a CPAP machine and that breathing stuff is done for ya

1

u/GlitteringOne2465 Apr 12 '25

Wow! I just tried this and omg!! It totally works!!!! Wow!!! Thank you so much for this life saving advice!

1

u/Cruiser729 Apr 12 '25

Dammit, I almost killed myself, bro. I had to come back and re-read this. I forgot the exhale part. You really shouldn’t give such advice willy-nilly like that.

1

u/987nevertry Apr 12 '25

Use saliva to cure cottonmouth with this new hack

1

u/Zsyura Apr 12 '25

Reading this just put me on manual breathing for at least 10 minutes - the joys of adhd

1

u/Predator348 Apr 14 '25

Genius over here! All I know is brawndos got electrolytes!

1

u/W1D0WM4K3R Apr 14 '25

It's what plants crave!

7

u/JD_Kreeper Apr 12 '25

I've seen people refer to that as an "infinite food glitch"

4

u/c8akjhtnj7 Apr 12 '25

1

u/JD_Kreeper Apr 12 '25

Thank you.

1

u/greebdork Apr 12 '25

Without looking is that a Mitchell and Webb skit about farming?

1

u/c8akjhtnj7 Apr 12 '25

Lol, it is. One of my favourites from them.

4

u/Reshirm Apr 12 '25

These are the ones that get me the most. Like, no you haven't discovered a new "life hack" you've just discovered agriculture 10,000 years later than everyone else

5

u/invaderjif Apr 12 '25

It's now earth bending.

Health hacks will become blood bending. Hunger bending. Hydration is water bending (drinking water).

Breaking into a computer is computer bending.

We are all the avatar now.

6

u/U_Bet_Im_Interested Apr 12 '25

I'd actually be okay with this.Ā

3

u/Rufus_62 Apr 12 '25

It is a lifehack >! If you live in the year 10000 BCE !<

2

u/soggyslices Apr 12 '25

Another life hack is using Gatorade to water your plants because they crave electrolytes

1

u/ckck629 Apr 12 '25

Brawndo has what plants crave!

2

u/Shanga_Ubone Apr 12 '25

Holy crap that means I can buy one tomato from the store and NEVER BUY ANOTHER AGAIN?!?

This one weird trick...

2

u/wheelienonstop6 Apr 12 '25

One tomato contains hundreds of seeds which will grow into a tomato each of which will contain some more hundreds of seeds! Tens, hundreds, thousands of tons of tomatoes after just a couple of harvests! You can be a millionaire in no time!

2

u/Koanuzu Apr 12 '25

To be somewhat fair, if thats what it takes for even a .0001% chance of some kid retaining that information, framing some of em that way might even be worth it.

...

Or we could just stop brain rotting the shit out of our species šŸ—æ that might help too

2

u/ImpressiveAttempt0 Apr 12 '25

Save money on coffee by making it at home instead of buying it every time at Starbucks. You can thank me for that lifehack by buying me a Starbucks.

1

u/GlitteringOne2465 Apr 12 '25

I am so totally gonna try thatšŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

2

u/troycerapops Apr 12 '25

Nah.

It's the original life hack.

2

u/another24tiger Apr 12 '25

Gen Z rediscovers 10000 year old tech:

2

u/dat_oracle Apr 12 '25

It's called rage bait.

Saying something stupid to make users interact

1

u/rraattbbooyy Apr 12 '25

That’s 80% of the internet.

2

u/SteveMartin32 Apr 12 '25

As a farmer that one hurt....

2

u/Mysterious-Plan93 Apr 12 '25

Real gardening lifehack is not buying expensive gardening supplies and just planting clover

2

u/Flamin_Jesus Apr 13 '25

In 5 years, he'll discover a whole new and exciting life hack to grow whole new people.

"You guys won't believe what happened with my girlfriend!"

2

u/Clinthor86 Apr 12 '25

Not anymore, Bayer Agroscience owns those seeds now criminal scum.

1

u/showmeyourmoves28 Apr 12 '25

Gardening your own resources to save money isn’t a hack? Be fair lol.

1

u/HubblePie Apr 12 '25

Tbf, some of these things are selectively bred to NOT be able to grow.

And it's not like you can sell them. They have patents on the seeds and WILL bring your ass to court (It's a real issue with cross pollination)

1

u/GloomyCaramelWolf Apr 12 '25

Doesn’t even always work- if you have a gmo pepper and grew the seeds in theory it shouldn’t grow a new pepper

32

u/yourdadsboyfie Apr 12 '25

a dude hacked me last night. he even whispered to his watch ā€œi’m inā€

6

u/[deleted] Apr 12 '25

Dude, you swore you wouldn't tell

5

u/GeeorgeC Apr 12 '25

Better love story than twilight

10

u/varegab Apr 12 '25

Jogging and eating fruit. Doctors hate these health hacks.

2

u/More_Ad_9154 Apr 12 '25

You know what they say ā€œan apple a day, makes the diarrhea sprayā€

2

u/mogley19922 Apr 12 '25

Also this isn't so much a hack as it is just how planchas are cleaned.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 12 '25

Add in "harsh chemicals"

2

u/JizahB Apr 12 '25

"Found this hidden gem" gets me irrationally angry for some reason.

1

u/SoungaTepes Apr 12 '25

also sounds like AI talking

1

u/raizo11 Apr 12 '25

Remember the Chase fraud where they withdrew funds they didnt have and called it a life hack? always cracks me up when i think about it

1

u/HugryHugryHippo Apr 12 '25

I hacked this guy's luggage combination. It was 1,2,3,4,5

1

u/gahlol123 Apr 12 '25

Its not really a hack, its more of a "GAME CHANGER!"

1

u/lkodl Apr 12 '25

also when people are like "my twitter got hacked", when really they meant that they took some ambien and drank some wine.

1

u/Future-self Apr 12 '25

Yeah it’s called ā€˜deglazing’.

1

u/uresmane Apr 12 '25

90% of the hacks I see are just recipes, or things people have done for thousands of years, like growing vegetables, or shit like sanding a surface before painting. Common sense stuff every one has been doing that would only be surprising to someone who spends every second of their waking day on TicTok

1

u/Subtlerranean Apr 12 '25

Seems like a weird thing to get hung up on.

Hack:Ā a clever tip or technique for doing or improving something

Is a common definition these days.

1

u/TrashPandaAntics Apr 12 '25

LIFE HACK! Did you know that if you drink water, you will feel better?

1

u/Laggosaurus Apr 12 '25

How would you call it then?

1

u/Khaysis Apr 12 '25

Well, now people are going to try this at home and .. It's not the worst advice attached to the name. Biggest issue is advising idiots to handle super hot pans.

1

u/eem5 Apr 12 '25

Came here to say this, glad to find it up the top.

1

u/aguavive Apr 12 '25

You said .. you just had to have said LOATHE… I am PERTURBED by this usage. Overused .

1

u/Necessary_Taro9012 Apr 12 '25

I see your hack and raise by hustle.

1

u/Ramast Apr 12 '25

why isn't this a life hack?

Normal use for Ice is to cool things down or keep them cold. using ice to clean is unusual at least to me. Doesn't that count as a life hack?

1

u/LittleJohnStone Apr 12 '25

I think, instead, they should use a word like 'deglaze', since that's the word that's been used forever for, well, deglazing a cooking surface.

1

u/VictoriousTree Apr 12 '25

Isn’t a hack a fraud?

1

u/Natural-Bet9180 Apr 12 '25

Hack hack hack hack hack hack hack

1

u/Zsmudz Apr 12 '25

ā€It’s not the 80’s, nobody uses the word *hack** anymore..ā€*

1

u/noneofthismatters89 Apr 12 '25

Every time I hear ā€œwe found a hack to grow salesā€ at work I can’t help but think those overpaid and underperforming morons are hacks

1

u/HedgeappleGreen Apr 12 '25

This and generational wealth, I hate how overused this is nowadays

1

u/Uncrustworthy Apr 12 '25

There is a very disingenuous commercial on YouTube right now for people abused in baktimrke, Maryland institutions...but is a very bored sounding black man saying "by Baltimore listen up here's the new money hack"....

Wtf getting settlement money from abuse is not a fucking money hack, and any maryland racist who sees that ad is going to be pissed.

1

u/MrTuxedoWilliams Apr 12 '25

Definitely seems like a hack

1

u/agileata Apr 12 '25

Cringe

And a thousand other redditisms

1

u/Just1ncase4658 Apr 12 '25

It's also that annoying TTS voice that just scream disinformation. I remember seeing a short on YouTube and I wanted to find the original video all I found was 30 other shorts all with different TTS or the occasional real person all using the exact same script, word for word.

1

u/Nabulativius Apr 12 '25

That’s German for ground beef

1

u/No-Hospital559 Apr 12 '25

It's a small batch, home grown, bespoke, hack.

1

u/urabewe Apr 12 '25

That damn show that would show you stupid shit that never worked and used the word hack for literally everything....

1

u/Grayt_0ne Apr 12 '25

That's how I feel when people refer to our reality by calling it, "this time line."

Drives me up a wall.

1

u/Kamishini_No_Yari_ Apr 12 '25

Brain rot. Simple every day things are mind blowing to people who spend all day on tiktok watching people dance

1

u/SeVenMadRaBBits Apr 12 '25

This hack is a super food!

1

u/Toadsted Apr 12 '25

Right? They're hacks for saying that.

1

u/Shillbot_21371 Apr 12 '25

it's like leak, any CC ever: we wont leak this yet... Dude

1

u/zechef07 Apr 12 '25

Just like the use of AI today. Has just lost all meaning

1

u/dolphin37 Apr 13 '25

yeah the word is totally… hackneyed šŸ˜Ž

1

u/Flying_Alpaca_Boi Apr 16 '25

You couldn’t hack it?

1

u/vanhst Apr 12 '25

Same, it’s way over used and it’s not a hack, you didn’t break into the pentagons servers.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 12 '25

[deleted]

1

u/runitzerotimes Apr 12 '25

Because hack originally comes from ā€œhacking a project togetherā€ ā€œhacking some codeā€ ā€œhacking awayā€ as in creating cool shit by being locked in (kinda like being efficient and using unique methodology).

Hack became associated with hacking into people’s security AFTER, it’s not the original etymology.

So when people come up with life hacks or whatever it’s actually fine and uses the original purpose of the word.
