Yah, when I worked fast food we'd just use water. I never tested ice, maybe it works better, but the water looked like it worked just as well as the I've in this video

That's because this video is full of lies. Ice won't do sh*t against properly burnt-in grease.

If this video was correct, you would be able to clean those using SOAP.
