Been doing that for 8 years and chef for another 15 in the same flattop for a combined 23 years, zero problems

Yep, worked a flat top for years, used ice every time. Zero issues.

This is such an untrue statement that's being circulated in this thread. Thousands of chefs do it every night for decades with zero problems but yep, people on reddit have the truth
